Prep Hoops Mayhem In The Plex: Friday Night Standouts

He scored in a multitude of ways, off the bounce getting to the rim or his comfortable spot in the midrange. I was very impressed with his ability to score the ball from the perimeter, calmly using limited dribbles to get an open shot for himself. He showed an ability to slide into the corners and move without the basketball, calmly setting himself to catch and shoot and punish the defense for a late closeout. Defensively, he was great at timing up his opponents and getting deflections on shots and playing the passing lanes.   Another huge aspect of his game is his maturity and how he handles himself on the court. He is a leader on the court, picking up his teammate's heads when they make a mistake and celebrating to the max when his teammates score. In a game where he scored 36 and led his team to victory, he was more excited about the defensive plays his teammate's made down the stretch.   [player_tooltip player_id='1549449' first='Ian' last='Berry'] 2026 Little Elm High School, TX (Flash Elite 2026) [player_tooltip player_id='1549449' first='Ian' last='Berry'] is an impressive freshman guard who exudes confidence on the court. He has a complete scoring arsenal, able to score at all three levels with ease. His ball-handling skills are at a high level, allowing him to create his own shot and penetrate the defense with ease. He has a quick first step and is a master at using his body to create separation for his shot. From the perimeter, he has a smooth release and can knock down shots with limited dribbles.   What sets Ian apart from others is his ability to get to the rim and finish through contact. He has great body control and can adjust his shot mid-air to finish in traffic. His scoring ability is matched by his defensive prowess. He is a lanky defender who can move his feet and keep up with his opponent. He excels at timing up passing lanes and creating turnovers that lead to transition opportunities.   Colby O'Glee 2023 6' Airline High School, LA (Louisiana Goats 17U)   Colby O'Glee was one of the top unsigned seniors at the PrepHoops Mayhem In The Plex. He is a sharp shooting combo guard who excels at both scoring and playmaking. He has a great shooting touch from beyond the arc and can knock down shots with ease. He's equally comfortable shooting off the catch or dribble, and can create his own shot when necessary. Colby is also an excellent passer who has great court vision and can find his teammates in the right spots for easy baskets.   Defensively, Colby is a tenacious defender who is always looking to get steals and deflections. He's quick on his feet and has active hands, which allows him to stay in front of his opponent and make it difficult for them to get good looks at the basket. He's also a smart defender who understands team defense concepts and can rotate well to help his teammates. According to his coaches; Colby is a standout student with excellent grades, and is sure to be a top prospect for NAIA schools.   EJ White 2024 6'6 Madison Central, MS (Mississippi United 2024)   EJ White is an explosive wing player who brings an impressive array of skills to the court. He has a knack for getting to the rim and finishing with authority, using his quickness and athleticism to create separation and get to the basket. He is equally comfortable shooting from the perimeter, with a quick and smooth release that allows him to get his shot off even in tight spaces. I was particularly impressed with his ability to catch and shoot off screens, showing a great understanding of spacing and timing.   On the defensive end, EJ is an absolute monster. He has the quickness and length to cover multiple positions, and he loves to get up in his opponent's grill and make life difficult for them. He is great at anticipating passes and getting deflections, and he is always looking to start the fast break with a steal or a blocked shot. His intensity and energy on defense are truly impressive. Overall, EJ is a versatile and dynamic player who can impact the game in a variety of ways. His combination of scoring ability and defensive prowess make him a real force to be reckoned with on the court.   [player_tooltip player_id='2320476' first='Javori' last='Washington'] 2025 6'2 Cypress Falls High School, TX (1 Dream 1 Team)   [player_tooltip player_id='2320476' first='Javori' last='Washington'] is an aggressive scorer who can get to the rim at will. He's a dynamic player who is always looking to make plays, whether it's by attacking the basket or setting up his teammates. His ball-handling skills are top-notch, and he uses his quickness and explosiveness to create separation from defenders and get to the rim. His euro step move is particularly impressive, allowing him to finish at the rim despite contact from defenders.   Defensively, Javori is a lockdown defender who loves to apply pressure all over the court. He's quick on his feet and uses his length to disrupt passing lanes and come up with steals. He's also an excellent help defender who rotates well to provide help defense and protect the rim. During night one at the PrepHoops Mayhem In The Plex tournament, he came up with a ton of steals and looked to go coast to coast after wreaking havoc on the defensive end of the court.
