From this event, there were some definite players to watch as the Prep Hoops Circuit continues. In this Prep Hoops exclusive, we will look at players to watch from the Space City Collision in Houston.
Rashaed Smith (6’4″ / LA Broncos ’25)
Smith is an undersized four who knows his way around the paint. He has great hands and catches any passes or rebounds that are in his area. He is hard to stop when he does catch the ball on the block and can score with either hand. Smith has a soft touch and a floater as well which helps him keep the defense off balance. He is a very good player in the paint.
Noah Abede (6’4″ / Holbrook Hoops Hurricanes ’26)
Abede is another undersized big who knows his was around the paint. His game is one that is based on catches on the block and rebounds. For a sophomore, he knows how to clear space in the paint and rebound in that space. Abede is a good finisher when he receives passes around the basket. He is a player with a ton of potential.
Cameron Bruns (6’1″ / Texas Bad Boys ’25)
Bruns was a guard who was a disrupter and played passing lanes well in the game I saw. He is also a capable shooter and driver of the basketball. Bruns is very good on the defensive end and his active hands lead to situations where his team gets into transition. His ability to defend will help him go a long way.
Mason Delaney Mason Delaney 6'4" | SF Ruston | 2026 State LA (6’4″ / WBBP Rush ’26)
Delaney was one of the key reasons why WBBP Rush went undefeated on the weekend. His ability to rebound and run the floor was very useful in each game WBBP played. He knows how to rim run and is very good at catching passes or grabbing offensive rebounds. The boards are where he did the most damage. When his outside game catches up with his interior game, he will be a hard player to stop.
Tyler Lyles (6’4″ / One Dream Elite ’26)
Lyles is another up and coming forward who may be undersized; however, he knows his way around the paint. He is very good at filling the lane and finishing in the paint. His hands are like vise grips when he catches the ball. Lyles ability to finish at the rim is high level for a sophomore. He will be a player to watch going forward.
Look out for these players as the Prep Hoops Circuit continues throughout the summer.
