Continue ReadingThe Gauntlet on The Gulf took place over the weekend at the beautiful IMG Academy. Prep Hoops Florida scouts Allen Pettigrew, Kyle Sandy and Ross Van De Griek were on the grounds of the event. Here is a look at the top guards who performed over the weekend.
Jalen Yutzy– The 6-3 rising senior was lights out from the perimeter this weekend for Liberty Edge where it seemed like every time he shot the ball, it was going in. His ability to score from all three levels has spoken volumes about how much his game has progressed since the start of his junior season. Yutzy covered a lot of his attributes and has the potential to be a caliber role player heading into his senior season.
Trey Fogle Trey Fogle 6'1" | CG Gateway Charter | 2025 FL – The 6-1 guard was unguardable when it came to his presence from beyond the arc. In four games for the Florida Phenoms, Fogle shot nearly 40 percent from 3-point range. His high IQ and ability to create for his teammates has taken to a new level.
Justis Clements Justis Clements 6'1" | PG Eagle View Academy | 2026 FL – The 6-0 guard was very creative when it came to initiating the offense whether it was filling up the box score with his scoring or his passing. Clements was also sensational on the defensive end as well whether it was forcing turnovers or forcing his opponent to taking a tough shot. Clements has huge upside as he is gearing up for his sophomore season.
Ashton Peterson Ashton Peterson 6'0" | PG Estero | 2026 FL – Ashton is a true point guard and a leader on the floor. His ability to be a coach on the floor has really matured his game to a new extent, as he is only getting better. He also brings a ton of craftiness and toughness when he is out on the floor despite his size, as he finds ways to get to the basket. He scored in double figures in three of his team’s four games for SWFL Hoops 2026.
Dallas Lambert Dallas Lambert 6'4" | SF Port Charlotte | 2026 State FL – I have been really impressed with Lambert’s game for a few months now, whether it’s his scoring or decision making. Lambert seems to always be in the right position to make the right plays as he continues to develop into being a top prospect ranked in the Class of 2026. His defense also speaks volumes on his game as he can guard multiple positions at a high level.
Noah Cutler– The 5-11 guard was on fire from beyond the arc finishing with 23 points, including 5 made 3-pointers in a 71-59 win over Filling The Lane. Not only has Cutler been a spark scorer this weekend for SWFL Hoops Red, but he is also making plays with his persistent passing as well. High IQ and played with great pace throughout the weekend and still eyeing that first offer.
Rocco Lamuno– The 6-4 point guard continues his ability to be a score-first guard after putting up a game-high 34 points in a win over Elite Hustlers 2024. He followed up with a 28-point performance in a win against Ballers Elite Academy 2025. Lamuno played with complete control and pace throughout the game and his game is starting to take a leap to a brand new level. Recruitment stock will start to heat up this summer as he gears up for his senior season.
