The Upstate based teams has been playing on the Hoop Group Circuit a lot this spring. Rembert a left-handed water bug point guard really looks to score the ball when given the opportunity. JJ is looking to push the tempo as much as possible whenever on the floor - which seems like always - he never leaves the game. Rembert plays in the Upstate at Nation Ford HS.

[player_tooltip player_id='1155909' first='DJ' last='Harvey'] and his teammates won the Blue Bracket this weekend at (5-0). Harvey runs for [program_tooltip program_id='2078755' first='Upward' last='Stars Upstate'] Harvey (Coached by his father). DJ helped Christ Church win a Class 1A State Championship this past season with [player_tooltip player_id='865293' first='Jordan' last='Butler']. DJ is the ultimate table-setter on the floor and always looks to make the right reads to be successful. He plays the game at nice even keel at all-times and seems to be in control.

[player_tooltip player_id='1088708' first='Caleb' last='Jenkins'] might not and will never be the biggest guy on the court. Jenkins surely makes up for it with his heady play at times and willingness to keep the ball low to the floor. Caleb is a gamer on the hardwood and don't let his size scare you college coaches at the next level. He was able to touch the paint and find the open man today or simply drop a short floater in the lane. Caleb runs on energizer batteries and seems to go and go all game long. He attends Sumter HS and plays for Head Coach Bryan Brown.

Hershberger Brings Versatility:

[player_tooltip player_id='1420680' first='Braden' last='Hershberger'] certainly had the best hair this weekend at the Phenom Memorial Day Classic. He brings it at all-times with his effort and his willingness to attack the cup. Braden is a very deceptive athlete who can score the ball at the rack while taking a side of contact on the way. Braden who attends Mauldin HS was running with KST Academy here at the Phenom Memorial Day Classic.

SHOOTERS, SHOOTERS, SHOOTERS:

[player_tooltip player_id='1168159' first='Zyan' last='Hager'] who attends Catawba Ridge in the Upstate finished with 18 points and 5 three pointers in an opening round win Prep Hoops was able to catch. Hager showed good shot selection all game long and always seemed to be ready to receive the ball in the pocket. He never looked to force his shot.

[player_tooltip player_id='1692194' first='Joshua' last='Smith'] plays the game so cool at times and before you look up, he's scorching opponents with his play on the floor. He and his [program_tooltip program_id='2078724' first='Carolina' last='Pressure'] 2024 teammates finished the weekend at (4-0) with a few wins over some shoe sponsored programs. Smith a future Stock-Riser has had a good spring with his play. He attends Ridge View HS in Columbia.

[player_tooltip player_id='1678544' first='Will' last='Olden'] was really able to set up shop at times today from behind the three-point line. Olden shoots the ball at a good clip and just like Smith never looks to force his shot. Will is a specialist in my mind with his shot making and another kid who will see his name move up in the set of rankings update with his play this spring for the [program_tooltip program_id='2078724' first='Carolina' last='Pressure'] 2024. Olden attends Blythewood HS in the Midlands.

[player_tooltip player_id='986185' first='Brady' last='Poole'] is headed back to Chesnee HS according to his father Howie Poole. Poole played this past season at Broome HS after starting his career for Chesnee HS. Brady has been running with [program_tooltip program_id='2078755' first='Upward' last='Stars Upstate'] Harvey all spring long.

Collins Making Noise:

[player_tooltip player_id='1239543' first='Madden' last='Collins'] played extremely well in the games we saw this weekend for [program_tooltip program_id='2078753' first='Upward' last='Stars Columbia'] 17U. Madden finished with 26 points in a victory early in the day vs ACE SD Pena. Collins a combo guard from Irmo HS is fresh off a Class 4A State Championship this past season for the legendary Head Coach Tim Whipple.

Madden can score the ball from all 3 levels on the floor. He really has gotten stronger and started to fill out his frame over the past year. Collins has really picked up his defensive intensity this season and started to be more of a complete overall guard.

The 2024 Palmetto State Class will be turning the page and heading into the Senior Class next fall.
