Pac Xpress
This is a young team with some talented players who are fun to watch. WF West, Napavine, Montesano, Elma, Adna, and Tenino are some of the schools represented.
Gage is an athlete. He looks like a football player and plays with a smoothness of a hoops player. He is a great football player by the way. He scored 15 points for Xpress, getting some nice mid-range jumpers early on. He highlited his night with a dunk cutting to the basket in the 2nd half. This is a strong and physical kid who has versatility in his game. He can score in the paint and did so on several occasions. He is a good enough athlete to guard all over the floor. He should be the man for W.F West next season. Expect a lot of high flying buckets from him with his style of play.

Karsen did what Karsen does. He got high energy buckets driving to the hoop and finishing strong. He had a double double, which isn’t surprising the way he rebounds. He also knocked down a couple threes showing a noticeably better looking shot. He tied Brumfield with 15 of his own. If he develops into a good three point shooting player, he’s going to be a tough one in 2B coming off a 1st team all league season. These 1st two are both tremendous athletes, and both are all state wide receivers in football. It shows up as high flying energy on the court.
Noah showed off his versatility, scoring around the rim with some good quick hitters. He can play inside and out. Much like the first two, he gets some high flying, high energy buckets. I was impressed with his footwork in the paint. He got most of his 13 points on drives to the hoop. Add one three for good measure. His skill set is that of a guard but is very effective in the paint. He has the talent to be a star in Class 1A the next two years after averaging over 20 this season. He also fought for rebounds and kept balls alive with the same quick twitch jumping as the first two here.
Judah Kelly
Judah Kelly
Judah is tasked with running the point for this team as he did this season for MWP. He is capable of getting hot from long distance, hitting a few threes early on. He is getting a better understanding of ball movement, swinging the ball to open shooters on the perimeter. He is ready for a breakout season next year as a go to scoring point guard.
Traden Carter
Traden Carter
Give him the dime of the day on a sweet look underneath for an easy two. He has the right idea and makes basketball plays more often than not. He can also drop threee, hitting a couple. He finished with 8 points, and was fairly solid as a ball handling guard. He has floor vision and gets it on the break and goes, getting it to the right people.
Cayle Kelly
Cayle Kelly
Cayle is a high IQ player who can be deadly from three. His shot is pure and although he may have passed up some potential looks, he did knock down the shots he took, including a couple threes. Good defensive player that will pick up his teammates mistakes, understanding help defense. His on ball defense was solid as well. Up and coming knock down shooter has a beautiful looking jumper.
Tyce Peterson
Tyce Peterson
Tyce is a shooter with a nice looking shot from three. Once he sets his feet, he will likely drop some threes. He showed catch and shoot ability, knocking down a couple quick treys. He is also a strong player who can hold his own getting to the basket. Improved quickness will help him to be one of the top scoring guards in the Evergreen 1A league next season after averaging 14 this year.
Gavin Muller
Gavin Muller
Gavin is a versatile player and good athlete. He is long and rangy, allowing him to be effective in the paint with drives to the hoop and cuts for layups. He is a glue type hustle player who can help you in a lot of aspects of the game. He can rebound, defend, and get some easy ones around the rim. He also showed that athletic ability throwing down dunks with ease after the 40 minutes of scrimmage.
Mount Rainier Select evaluations will come in a separate article.
