Oklahoma State Tournament: 15U Day 2 Standouts (Part 1)

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Oklahoma State Tournament kicked on 5/20/2023. It features several talented teams and players, showcasing their talents to find out who is the best. There was a ton of talent throughout, so it was hard to narrow down who made the list. His team is playing up, as they are actually a 14U team. Against Next Level, he recorded 15 points on 6-9 shooting. He went 1-3 from three point range, but impacted the game in other areas on offense, as he finished with five assist. His finishes featured a baseline drive that resulted in a scoop shot and a great cut that resulted in a layup. On defense, he was able to come away with a steal. He was one of those talents that you find yourself having your eyes fixated on. He has solid size for a guard/wing, athleticism, and a knack on defense. He had a nonstop motor and made a living at the foul line in the first half, where he went 10/10. He would relentlessly attack in transition, he would attack the gap in half court offense, and he would constantly leave the defense on their toes. When the defense would play off of him to guard the rim, he would rise up and drain the three. He knocked down a pair of threes in the game. On defense, he provided great double teams, help defense, and multiple steals. He would play unselfishly too, looking to set up his teammates. This is shown when he would attack the gap and kick to an open shooter or cutter. It was also reflected when he would grab a rebound and fire an accurate outlet pass. He came a way with a few assists in this game. He displayed an absurd ability to shoot the ball, especially with the dribble pull-up. He would rise up and drain one shot from mid-range or three after another. If the defense was a step late, it was automatic for him. He utilized a turnaround jumper from mid-range a couple of times, as well. His offensive game expanded beyond his prolific shot making, as he would set his teammates up for an assist one time after another. He would grab rebounds and push the pace into a good pass, drive and kick to a shooter, or show patience and find a cutter. On defense, he made just as big of an impact. He played exceptional on-ball defense and came away with several steals. He provided help and disrupted the play every time the opposition would try to run something. He hit a three early on from the corner and kept that momentum going. He finished the game with three three-pointers, including one of them being a pull-up. He showed the ability to drive the gap and to draw the foul. This resulted in him going to the free throw line, where he made all four of his attempts. He is a more than capable passer. He only had one assist in the game, but should have had more. His ability to run in transition helped him score a couple of times, as well. He came away with a couple of rebounds, including an offensive rebound. The last area he made an impact was defense. He played good on-ball defense and contested the ball extremely well. He easily cleared 10 rebounds, probably being closer to 15 rebounds with half of them being offensive. I counted three different times that he had a putback off of an offensive rebound. It is possible that I missed a few and that number is higher. His game expanded to more than that on offensive, as he knocked down a three pointer, as well. His defense was superb, showing good hands to knock the ball away and good help defense. I counted four blocks in the game. On one of them, he blocked it, grabbed the rebound, and then scored in transition. I am not sure what his final stats were in the game, but going off of my stats, he had around 11 points, 15 rebounds, and four blocks.
