Oklahoma State Tournament: 15U Afternoon MVPs Day 1

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Oklahoma State Tournament kicked off this morning, on 5/20/2023. It features several talented teams and players, showcasing their talents to find out who is the best. There was a ton of talent throughout, so it was hard to narrow down who made the list. He showed an array of jumpshots, which included him pulling up and hitting a mid-range jumper over a defender on more than one occasion. He showed the ability to get to the basket and finish, but the mid-range pull-ups were his bread and butter. His defense with both on-ball and help was on-point in this game. His last area that he impacted was with his rebounding. He grabbed multiple offensive rebounds, in which one of them led to a putback. He was a monster on the glass, grabbing one rebound after another. On more than one occasion, he grabbed a rebound and then put it back in. He would position himself well and score time and time again inside the paint. There was one play that he utilized his size and strength advantage to bully the defender out of the way on his way to the basket. It was an easy two points for him. Scoring inside was not the only thing he could do on offense, as he showed the ability to playmake, by having a couple of assist. On defense, he showed great help defense on multiple occasions. He also had active hands by tipping the ball out of bounds out of the ball-handlers hands. Multiple emphatic dunks and so many more that were close. He would run in transition and then end with some power at the rim. He grabbed some rebounds in this one, including one time that he grabbed an offensive rebound and found the open man. His teammate missed the shot but he was able to set him up perfectly. He had some other finishes inside and an assist. On defense, he provided good interior defense and help. This helped him come away with a block. He grabbed one rebound after another, not allowing the other team to have a chance at second chance points. There was one offensive rebound that he grabbed to where he got fouled on the putback. This resulted in him knocking down two free throws. The other team would bring one double team after another at him, in which he responded with one great pass after another. He showed the ability to put the ball on the deck and hit a floater over a defender. The icing on top with this dominant performance was arguably the greatest play I saw at the event. He rose up with an inch of space to drain a three with the foul. He remained composed as he knocked in the free throw to complete the four-point play. It was a spectacular performance. He showed a smooth stroke that he utilized to knock down a multitude of threes. There were some catch and shoot threes, but it expanded beyond that. He displayed the ability to pull-up and hit threes. He is someone that also showed the ability to run in transition, in which contributed to him finishing in transition on a couple of occasions. He was efficient from the free throw line, as well as played good defense. He was fighting through screens and playing solid on ball defense. There was one play that he tipped the ball away on defense. Outside of a rebound, that sums up his game.
