Fargo. How about the kids from Buffalo High School jumping into the Fargo AAU event this past weekend – hosted by ECI – and winning the entire thing?!?! They went 5-0 at the event holding their first three opponents to 26 points or less followed by a 21 point win over the ECI second team, and then a 24 point beatdown of the Sanford Sports Academy second team in the title game! Buffalo wins AAU. Allowed 150 points total if five games (that’s 30 a game to you math wizards).
Chicago. A team that has really, really bounced back is the Real Phenom 16s. They head some early season slip ups but then rebounded with a couple big weekends. This past weekend in Chicago the Phenom was placed in Pool C of a big name Chicago event, and they went 3-1. All of a sudden they are a 20 win team!
Fury Shootout. Fury Wilde won the event as expected but they had some tough battles. They won their first two games by big margins followed by a tough semi-final game against West Central United followed by the title game win over J Squad Adidas. And J Squad Adidas was likely the big eye opener of the weekend as they ended the undefeated streak of Fury Antl 15s and came within two scores of beating Fury Wilde in a well played game. And WCU, they went 3-1 over the weekend earning third place.
Denver. D1 Minnesota 16s had a nice nine point win over PLUTO Prospects, they knocked off Kongo Elite, and completely obliterated Montana Rebels and State 38. It was a 4-0 weekend winning by a combined 89 points.
Milwaukee. Lightning King went to Milwaukee and played a heavyweight list of teams beating two, and then losing to a UAA team and losing to an Adidas team in close games.
Iowa. At the 16s level in Iowa, Lace Up earned a southern Minnesota win over Minnesota Rise, in the state south of us. Big win from Lace Up, maybe the biggest win from them that I can remember!
