Liam has been able to take that game to another notch. Just when you think he has no where else to take his game he starts to elevate even more. Liam is a get whatever shot you want kind of player. His ability to always be on the move has really gotten him a lot of praise across the country. He is a HM Player that is nOw playing on a circuit with his Idaho AAU team called Select. Select has been earning their keep on the new Balance Circuit that has been getting some BUZZ. With players with elite mid-range and just all-around scoring ability like Liam on the floor coaches from all sorts of college levels are gong to show up and watch. He knows how to score the ball and this not just jacking three-pointes he is driving moving, catching off the move and getting into some great pick and roll situations. His high level play is impressive as he is one if not the best player in the state of Utah in the Class of 2024.
This kid is so smooth as he has this kinda easy going flow to his game. He has an ability to set up defenders with the change of speed. He is an elite lefty shooter that is precise. If you give him to much space it does not matter how you close out he is going to light it up. He has a fluid handle that can set up side step jumpers as well as step back and that lefty dominant hand often times throws off defenders as they protect left but give up too much space where he feels comfortable shooting pushing back right.
This kid has so much DOG in him. When he puts his head down and just goes he can get that step and he can beat the rotation defender coming over because he is fast with the ball in his hands. Defensively he is locked on as he can move well to keep people in front and he is strong as well. Off the ball he is a threat because he can shoot. One aspect of his game that really has impressed is his pump-fake because he is old school in that sense because he sells it and it allows him to attack. He plays with a great pace and energy. He is even keel all game long. His finishing is smart because he is not always trying to body someone he is simply finishing ways to see the ball go through the net. It’s the little things like his jab set ups or him rubbing a defender off of a screen to give him and extra inch or two of space that makes the difference.
We have had multiple chances to watch this kid and although he has a long way to go as he is still raw he is doing some things that really make you pay attention. His development has come a long way. His play in the post over his left and right shoulder is getting more and more polished. He can extend those arms and finish high away from shot blockers. His rim running has resulted in easy dunks and finishes. He is a bit antsy on the ball with his hands and at times when he is blocking shots but the amount of IQ he is getting is noticeable. He might not be ready yet but he is going to be a next level talent for sure. He is a player you can buy early stock on.
