The guard play at the Space City Collision was exquisite to say the least. Guards who handled the ball in every game were a premium during the weekend in Houston. In this PH exclusive, we will look at the guards who impressed during the Space City Collision.

[player_tooltip player_id='1543647' first='Cooper' last='Nelson'] (OWE '26 Elite | 5'10")

When you talk about point guards at the Space City Collision, [player_tooltip player_id='1543647' first='Cooper' last='Nelson'] was in his bag. Not only did he find guys running the floor or cutting in the paint, he found the wing shooters with skip passes and the corner three shooters with his ability to drive and kick. Nelson also scored at the rim on various layups. He played at a very high level throughout the weekend.

[player_tooltip player_id='1285330' first='Antron' last='Mason II'] (C&S Hoopstars '25 | 5'11")

Mason showed that he can fill it up from deep, make good decisions in the half court and on the break, and play a high level of defense. His defense included him stealing the ball from guards and finding early opportunities for this teammates in transition. Because he shot the ball well, it opened up his drive and dish game in the paint. Mason was a guard who showed the overall versatility in his game.

[player_tooltip player_id='2410743' first='Jaiden' last='Cockerham'] (LA Broncos '25 | 6'0")

Cockerham was on fire during the Space City Collision from deep. He was also a player who played point guard with precision and speed. Cockerham pushed the ball when he was supposed to and found teammates cutting near the cup. He also made several threes when the ball was reversed to him. Cockerham had an impressive weekend in Houston.

Ronin Passons (Holbrook Hoops Hurricanes '26 | 6'1")

Passons started early Saturday morning showing that he is an all-around point guard. He is a player who uses the dribble to get to his spots or spots his teammates can receive the ball easily. He can also rise and fire when things break down. Passons also showed that he was a very capable rebounder and was able to find players after he secured the rebound. He was definitely Mr. Do-it-all during the 8AM games Saturday.

Derrick Kirks (Island Impact '25 Elite | 5'7")

Kirks showed what good defense and timely shooting can get you on the hardwood. During a loss, Kirks was the Island Impact spark plug that got them back in the game. He sparked the team by playing hard, solid defense on the guards bringing the ball up. Kirks also made timely steals and assists that game Island Impact room to win. His ability to take offensive fouls and come back on offense and make plays was high level stuff.

Ryan White (Texas Takeover '25)

White showed his ability to play both guard positions over the weekend. When it comes to winning time, it appeared that his hands were where the ball needed to be. He displayed the ability to drive left and right with right being his primary choice. When he gets into the paint, White knows how to pass it to the necessary player to score or score himself. He is a player who gets the most out of attacking the rim.

These guards were some of the top players in Houston. They all showed they have the ability to make high IQ plays on the floor. Watch for them to be some of your better players on this circuit as the summer progresses.

The guard play at the Space City Collision was exquisite to say the least. Guards who handled the ball in every game were a premium during the weekend in Houston. In this PH exclusive, we will look at the guards who impressed during the Space City Collision.
