2025 Two-Way Guards (seen at Westland High School)
Jalen Teamer | 5’11” | Hopson Elite 2025 Jarrett | St. John’s Jesuit (Ohio)
The Hopson Elite program’s DNA is to blend a lot of athletes that play connected and give everyone the opportunity to make an impact. Hopson Elite Jarrett is no different. They are a group that brought a lot of talent to Columbus and competed in nearly every possession. When they played together as a unit, they are locking you up on defense and splashing 3s. Teamer was one of the primary contributors on both ends. Although they are deep at the guard position, Teamer came off the bench and immediately made the most of his time on the court. He was at his best when he was driving the ball downhill and getting into the paint area.
Ulysses Ponder | 5’6” | NOVA Village 2025 Harrington / Twinam | Olentangy (Ohio)
Pondor jumps at you with his pesky and feistiness as a defender. NOVA Village 2025 Harrington / Twinam likes to heat things up and their on-the-ball defense was ferocious over the weekend. Ponder attacks the ball with active hands and isn’t afraid of the contact. Offensively, Pondor attacks the paint with purpose and proved he is more than capable of knocking down perimeter shots. This NOVA Village bunch won their pool and finished the weekend 4-0. Pondor brought it every minute!
Lamontre Tripp | 5’10” | Team Takeoff 2025 | Meadowdale (Ohio)
Tripp is a hard worker that maximizes his energy at all times. Regardless of your skillset or your abilities, effort, and energy can take you a long way. Tripp showed that he is more than capable of battling on defense and digging out loose rebounds. Offensively, he is constantly in attack mode. Once he gets the ball past half-court, he is full-speed, downhill coming straight for the rim. On top of that, Tripp can beat you with catch-and-shoot 3s.
Calvin Polley (2026) | 5”7” | Michigan Jayhawks 2025 | Adrian (Michigan)
Polley is a true playmaker on both ends of the court. He fights for loose balls and crashes hard for rebounds. He does a good job of protecting possessions and knows how to use his body to create distance while dribbling. He is surrounded by good offensive balance so he doesn’t have to force the issue. There is a lot to appreciate about Polley’s game. He impacts the game in ways that the box score can’t define.
Zinan Taylor | 5’9” | Team IMPACT Indy 2025 | Rooted School (Indiana)
Overall, an up-and-down weekend for Taylor and the Team IMPACT club.. He was still a top performer in our scouting because of his sheer hustle and determination. Taylor goes so hard that he wears himself out! He was at his best when he was attacking the rim downhill and using his athleticism to create scoring angles around the paint. On defense, he worked hard guarding the ball and fighting off screens. We saw him hit the deck several times over the course of the weekend. Despite the outcome of the play, you can’t deny his competitive spirit. Once he harnesses that juice and combines it with high basketball IQ, he’ll be popping on our All-Tournament Team list.
