Rancho has a chance to enter 2023 as the number 1 team in 4A. Lot of that will depend on the overall improvement of young players like Koroma. Like a lot of their underclassmen, he’s big, strong and athletic. He’ll be a candidate to keep an eye on.
Green passes the eye test, and has a signature skill. The rangy shooting guard simply needs to consistently put the two together increase his visability on the recruiting radar. When he does, look for him to become a potential stockriser.
Rabb is a player that a lot of coaches will be looking at. He simply has two much length to ignore. He’s shown that he can rebound, and provides solid rim protection. As his offensive game grows, so will his breakout potential.
Feazell has a chance to make my all pit bull team this fall, and could be an intergral part of Cheyenne’s success this season. He’s quick and has shown that he can finish under and around bigs. In addition to his breakout status, he has a chance to be one of the more exciting players this high school season.
I’m intriguied by Fralin. His size is obvious, but he looks as if he’s just scratching the surface of his potential. He can already be a dominate force down low, he could become a real breakout candidate if he can stretch his game out further on the floor.
Tolliver is all arms and effort and I love it. He got terrific experience last season for Clark, and brings a tenacious attitude. He’s one of the better pure rebounders in the class, already showing he can score off putbacks. Addiding another dimension will go a long way to establishing himself as a breakout candidate.
Nelson does a lot of things that get overlooked, as well as some that standout. He plays with a good defensive IQ and has shown that he can score the ball at the high school level.
Childress has such a smooth game, it’s not hard to imagine him going off in front of the right people. As it is, his ability to handle and score it both during grassroots and the high school year, make him a clear breakout candidate.
Hard to believe Ivery will be entering his third season of Varsity basketball next year. He’s a candidate for my all pitbull team, as well as a leading candidate for my all irrational confidence squad. As it is the lefty competes on the defensive end, and is fearless when attacking on the offensive side of the ball. Keep an eye on him as a breakout candidate.
