Fox was a bright spot for a Del Sol team that only won 2 games last season, leading them in scoring averaging over 15 per game. He’s playing grassroots with one of the Vegas Elite clubs, and has proven that he can still score the ball. If he can do it consistently througout the summer, it would validate his sleeper status.
Wilson is currently ranked outside the top 100 right now, however he’s put together a couple of solid performances the times I’ve had a chance to see him this summer. Look for him to be one of the better shooters and sleepers as we inch closer towards the season.
Lechuga is part of the rebuild at Eldorado, and coming off a season that saw him becoming a productive player for the Sun Devils. He is owner of one of the best stats of the season as the guard that stands just over 6 feet tall, averaged over 8 rebounds per game. His glass cleaning skills alone qualify him for sleeper status.
The sharpshooting Pitts made a name for himself during the State Tournament, putting together a respectable performance for Douglas in the Semis. If he continues his shooting accuracy throughout the Grassroots season and the Tigers are once again a High School contender, keep an eye on this sleeper.
Rose is on my agenda to view at least a couple more times before the start of the season. I like his offensive skill set, but it’s his competitiveness that has me intriguied. The Eagles should be good again this season, as I expect Rose to lead the way. It’s simply a matter of how long before this sleeper is a household name.
Highlights
Casey is coming off a season that saw him put up big numbers for Reno. He’s running with the Wolverines this summer, and has already played against some tough competition. Look for his grassroots experience to help the slashing wing, get on the radar even more.
Looking forward to watching Engfer in the upcoming Spring Valley Team Camp. The athletic wing made some noise last Fall, carrying that over to a strong high school season. He has some physical tools, mixed with a good offensive skill set, making him a clear sleeper to keep an eye on.
