That jobs is usually reserved for the big who can rebound, protect the rim, and most importantly have the size to check another behemoth. Today we’ll break down the most intriguing bigs from the Gauntlet Battle on the Gulf.
White is a physical 6’6 forward. He ran the floor well, helped on the boards, and finished in the paint. He’s a bit raw but plays hard and has the frame to guard several positions.
Davis played up two age group and still had a productive weekend. The 6’8 big man has an intriguing frame and big hands. He’s a 2026 prospect that rebounds, finishes well in the paint, and moves well. Davis keeps plays alive with his length and can draw fouls through the post. An early strength and size advantage helps him avoid some of aggressiveness issues younger bigs tend to have.
Taylor’s showing a toughness to go along with 6’7 frame. He was a relentless finisher above on the break and half court. Taylor rebounds, makes shots beyond the arc, and is stepping into his own as a versatile player.
Matthew Pointer
Pointer is a 6’6 inside out that. He can hit the long ball, compete on the boards, and use his size to finish around the rim. He’s athletic and long enough to finishes alley oops. There’s a lot to like about his frame going into his senior year. His ability to hit mid range jumpers and passing from the high post give him versatility.
Trey Hallett
Hallet is a 6’5 forward with a track and field background. He runs the floor, finishes around the basket, and hit the offensive glass for putbacks. The 2024 prospect is willing to sacrifice his body on defense.
Moody’s still in his first month of play after ACL rehab. He’s still getting his rhythm and wind back but length and a high motor are keeping him productive. He runs the floor and finishes well in transition.
