Here, we take a look at part two of some of the sophomores that could be some of the many new additions to the class of 2025.
Sincere Jones | 6’6” WF | Churchland
Jones will likely be one of the highest debuts in the 2025 rankings, as he’s having a big summer with Team Loaded and is picking up division one offers from numerous schools. While he was overshadowed at times at Churchland, it’s hard to ignore the obvious physical and athletic tools he displays, the high motor and active ways he plays that makes him so productive and he’s still just scratching the surface with how good he can be moving forward.
Matt Henderson | 6’5” F | Powhatan
It’s not every day we have a Powhatan guy in our rankings as they’re known more as a football area, and Henderson is a very good football player as well, but he could be a collegiate basketball player too. The 6’5” forward looks the part with a strong frame that will only continue to fill out, he’s a big time athlete who can get out in transition and he can knock down shots when he’s left open.
Wade Bland Wade Bland 6'2" | PG Blacksburg | 2025 State VA | 6’1” CG | Blacksburg
Bland was a First Team All Region selection as just a sophomore, and he’s a name to keep an eye on in the Roanoke/New River Valley area. While he isn’t the biggest or most athletic guy, Bland is highly skilled as he’s shifty off the bounce and can create space, he’s a dead eye shooter from deep both off the catch and off the bounce and he’s a crafty finisher over bigger defenders when he gets downhill.
Mason Patrick | 6’4” WF | Trinity Episcopal
Patrick is a big part of a young TES team that made some noise this year, and he’s set to have a breakout junior season for the Titans next year. The 6’4” wing is a ball player as he is willing to guard the other team’s best offensive player, he can score the ball both from deep and in the midrange when he attacks closeouts and he’s an athletic finisher through traffic when he gets downhill.
John Uzochukwu | 6’2” CG | LC Bird
Uzochukwu showed flashes as a sophomore for Bird but was behind a senior backcourt that was one of the best in Richmond, and now with them gone he should get a lot more shine as a junior. He’s a strong and athletic guard who has blow by speed and can play through contact when he gets downhill, he’s a dog of a defender and a good rebounder and he makes winning plays on both ends of the floor.
Jeremiah Morris | 6’8” C | King’s Fork
King’s Fork has been one of the most successful programs in VA over the past few years, and they’ve done so without a true big for a long time. That will change with emergence of Morris who gives them a big body in the paint who can clog the lane and make it tough for driving guards, he has good hands and feet in the paint and can finish over the shoulder and he owns the glass and can start the break with long outlet passes.
