Division I Coaches won’t be back on the recruiting trail until the middle of June. Here are eight names in the state of Florida coaches should keep their eyes on for the next Live Period.
The 6-6 wing is a physical bruiser on the interior and uses his strength to his advantage. He plays hard on both ends of the floor whether it’s finishing around the rim or rebounding on the defensive end. Angueki plays with a high motor and is growing his offensive skillset to be more of a threat on the outside.
The 6-5 forward is an athletic wing who can also play like a guard. His ball-handling skills improved this past season for Westminster Academy. He is at his best when in transition as he has developed elusive quickness and can finish around the rim with authority. Police is coming off a junior season where he averaged 5.8 points, 3.4 rebounds and nearly two assists per game.
The 6-1 guard plays with complete control and poise throughout the game. He is a score-first primary guard who can shoot it from anywhere within the half court. Frazier averaged 18.8 points, 3.7 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game for Wolfson this past season.
The 6-0 point guard is a lights out shooter from the perimeter and played a key role for Columbus as they won the state championship and national championship this season. Fragela shot 35 percent from beyond the arc for the Explorers this past season as a sophomore. Fragela also holds offers from Arkansas State, FIU and South Carolina.
The 5-9 combo guard plays with a ton of competitiveness and shows a lot of promise to play at the next level. His ball-handling skills have improved and also makes the right plays. He also has a quick first step when it comes to attacking the basket keeping defenders on their heels. Mothersill will be an intriguing prospect to watch as he gears up for the next two high school seasons.
Highlights
The 6-2 guard can impact the game in a variety of ways whether he is controlling the game or getting his teammates involved. Maxon plays with an unselfish edge and doesn’t take very many shots over the course of a game. However, Maxon his limitless range from beyond the arc which can confuse defensive alignments and shoots nearly 40 percent from beyond the arc.
The 6-5 forward plays with a combination whether it’s size, confidence and athleticism. Allen is a true three-level scorer and an above average defender as well. His ability to defend multiple positions has taken a bigger leap after his sophomore season for Riviera Prep. He is a dynamic playmaker who plays a more mature game than his age indicates. Allen holds offers from Michigan and Villanova as the list expects to grow as he gears up for his upcoming junior season.
The 6-3 guard is a well-polished guard who plays a mature game. Smith provides a true three-level scoring ability every time he steps out on the floor. He will likely handle the primary point guard duties the next two seasons at Wiregrass Ranch with his high basketball IQ. Smith averaged 14.0 points, 5.6 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 2.3 steals per game during his sophomore season.
