Here are a few of the freshman standouts:
Marquice Cole Jr Marquice Cole Jr 5'11" | CG Hamilton | 2026 State AZ Hamilton (Arizona Grassroots)
A very good change of pace guard who opponents could not keep out of the paint. Every time he wanted to get there he got there and it usually resulted in good things happening. He’s a willing passer and showed he can hit the perimeter shot.
Bear Fisher Bear Fisher 6'5" | PF Queen Creek | 2026 State AZ Snowflake (Firestorm Sanders Select)
A fundamentally sound forward Fisher operated well around the rim and rebounded at a high clip. He ran the floor very well for his size and was always ready for passes coming his way. He should take a big step forward heading into his sophomore season.
Tobias Santiago Chapin (D1 El Paso Matrix 2026)
Santiago was filling it up over the weekend. He showed excellent range from three and also displayed the ability to put the ball on the floor when crowded on the perimeter. On defense he had good instincts and active hands that helped in the passing lanes. One of the better shooters in the freshman division.
Alex Taylor Alex Taylor 6'4" | SF Desert Vista | 2026 State AZ Desert Vista (Legion Of Hoops Navy 16U) (Featured Image)
A long athletic forward Taylor showed a lot of upside. He was active on both sides of the ball. On offense he had a nice first step off the dribble and attacked the rim very good. On defense he contested shots and rebounded very well.
Chris King Chris King 6'2" | SG AZ Compass Prep | 2026 State AZ Queen Creek (UpTempo Elite 2026-1)
An aggressive downhill scorer, King also showed that he can hit the three with consistency. He’s athletic and will throw it down on the break. He played within himself and showed a good IQ. When his team needed it he wasn’t afraid to take the big shots.
Zach Cutler Zach Cutler 6'3" | SF AZ College Prep | 2026 State AZ AZ College Prep (Pelicans Elite)
Known as a scorer he showed versatility by playing in the post due to injuries. He held his own defensively while still maintaining his offensive production. He’s smart enough to not force shots but rather wait for the ball to come back to him in a better situation.
