Kempson is the top available shooting guard in the class and has the potential to make an impact at the next level quickly. The 6'4 guard has a smooth shooting stroke and his range starts once he crosses half court. Kempson is more than just a shooter as he can also put the ball on the floor and get to the rim. He is an underrated defender and is not afraid of bringing the ball up the floor. Kempson is a sharpshooting guard prospect whose recruitment will be one to watch over the next couple of weeks.

[player_tooltip player_id='1402079' first='Bryce' last='Stokes'], 6'3 Paterson Eastside

Stokes led the way for the Ghosts this season as he helped them to a Group 4 state title. The 6'3 guard uses his handle to beat his defender off he bounce and can finish through contact. Stokes can get hot from distance in a hurry and shoots the ball with confidence from behind the arc. He moves well without the ball in his hands and works hard on the defensive end. Stokes is a big-time scorer who can get points at all three levels, which led to him making an All-State team in 2022-23.

[player_tooltip player_id='1773033' first='Ethan' last='Maynard'], 6'2 Seton Hall Prep

Maynard had a breakout 2022-23 season for the Pirates as he showed the ability to impact the game in a number of ways. The 6'2 guard has a smooth release on his jumper and he rarely forces shots in the half court. Maynard does more than just shoot as he can also get to the rim and finish. He has the ability to run the offense at times and is a solid on-ball defender. Maynard may reclassify and enter the 2024 class so he may not be a part of the 2023 class for long.

[player_tooltip player_id='1150536' first='Davontay' last='Hutson'], 6'2 Trenton

Hutson has been a big part of the Tornadoes' success over the last two seasons as he played with a motor that doesn't stop on either end of the floor. The 6'2 guard is at his best attacking the basket as he gets to the rim consistently and finishes through contact. Hutson moves well without the ball in his hands and can knock down jumpers in the mid-range. He skies for rebounds on both ends of the floor and uses his athleticism to make plays on the defensive end. Hutson is a physical wing prospect who has the potential to play closer to the basket at the next level.

[player_tooltip player_id='1773080' first='Tahdir' last='Carson'], 6'4 Roselle

Carson is an intriguing guard prospect to watch as he can impact the game in a number of ways. The 6'4 guard attacks the basket strong as he finishes nice around the rim and can draw contact in the paint. Carson uses his size to get to his spot on the floor and rises up nicely on his jumper. He has the length to defend multiple positions on the floor and is an underrated passer. Carson's combination of size and skill makes him a guard prospect to track in the 2023 class.
