In this PHLA exclusive, we will look at the best 10 prospects left on the board in reference to college recruiting.
Jamaria Clark Jamaria Clark 6'2" | CG Doyline | 2023 State LA (6’2″ / Doyline)
Clark is the best scorer in the class. He can play either guard position and he can place pressure on any defense with his ability to handle and shoot the ball. Clark will be a weapon for any team on the next level.
De’Vion Lavergne (6’3″ / North Central)
A 3x state champion who can guard both ends of the floor. He can score at all three levels and is the best wing defender in the state. Lavergne will be a very good player on the next level.
Warren Young Warren Young 6'1" | CG Walker | 2023 State LA (6’1″ / Walker)
Another guard who can play either on or off the ball. He has been the best guard Walker has had since Jalen Cook and plays in a similar way. His ability to be a lead guard will help him on the next level.
Jordan Trahan Jordan Trahan 6'4" | SG Country Day | 2023 State LA (6’4″ / Country Day)
Trahan is an uber-athletic wing who will dunk the ball on his opponents on a moment’s notice. He can also score from behind the arc and guard multiple positions. He will be a steal on the next level.
Terrance James Terrance James 6'4" | SF Gibsland-Coleman | 2023 State LA (6’4″ / Gibsland-Coleman)
James is probably the most athletic wing to come out of north Louisiana in recent years. He can score at all three levels and rebound like a power forward. James is an accurate shooter which makes him a real get for a college team.
Jaylen Pazon Jaylen Pazon 6'5" | CG Shaun Dumas Academy | 2023 State LA (6’4″ / Shaun Dumas Academy)
Pazon has managed to make himself into a wing who can play either guard position. He can make passes in tight spaces and shoot from beyond the arc. He is a up-and-coming talent that should get better on the next level.
JaQuise Richmond JaQuise Richmond 6'6" | SF Barbe | 2023 State LA (6’5″ / Barbe)
Richmond is a high-flying forward who can rebound and run the floor as well as anyone in the Boot. He is a talented wing that you don’t have to run plays for but he can rebound and score around the basket.
Omarion Layssard Omarion Layssard 6'2" | SG Northwood | 2023 State LA (6’2″ / Northwood-Lena)
Layssard may be a slight bit undersized but he is a spark plug in the open court. He is very athletic and his finishes above the rim will wow a crowd. Layssard is also a dog on defense and is very adept at the steal and score.
Elliot McQuillan Elliot McQuillan 6'2" | SG Port Allen | 2023 State LA (6’2″ / Port Allen)
McQuillan is a 2x state champion who is an elite shooter. He is more athletic than people think and can finish above the rim as well. His ability to guard both guard positions and shoot the way he does makes him a very interesting prospect.
Mason Guillory Mason Guillory 6'3" | PG St. Thomas More | 2023 State LA (6’3″ / St. Thomas More)
Guillory can be a real steal as a big point guard. The 6’3″ St. Thomas More guard can distribute very well as a point guard. He can also get to the rim and finish on drives. He will be a player who can play on any level and be successful.
