There was a very impressive crop of young point guards in the youngest bracket. Let’s look at some of the top floor generals in the 15u field.
Sam Garver

Garver played with more and more confidence as the weekend went on. If he continues that track, he’s in for a big spring. I liked the way that Garver picked his opportunities to score when they were available, but focused on getting the ball to his athletic wings and to his shooters.
Ahman Edmonds
Ahman Edmonds
I was thoroughly impressed with Edmonds play throughout the weekend. He might have been the best pure ball handler in the 15u division. Edmonds didn’t waste time and dribbles so the ball never got stuck in his hands. He was able to break down the defense off the dribble, get to the lane, and make decisions from there. Edmonds kept his dribble low and protected in traffic and he showed off some impressive change of speed capabilities.
Jaden Farmer
Jaden Farmer
Farmer was probably the smallest player in the field, but his game and upside is plenty big enough. In true floor general likeness, he wanted the ball in his hands. Farmer called for it to set the offense and was definitely the team’s primary ball handler. The thing that stood out to me was the way he talked and communicated with his team on both ends of floor
Metcalf put his game on display at the Rumble In The Rapids. He was a playmaking point guard off the bounce showing the ability to get his defender on his hip, penetrate the lane and find a dish off option from there. Metcalf also showed that he could finish at the rim with creativity as well. I was impressed to see that when he did dish the ball off, he didn’t watch the rest of the play, but instead repositioned himself in open space and made himself available to get the ball back in a scoring position.
Qubuc Griffin
Qubuc Griffin
I could really see the potential for Griffin to be an excellent lead guard. I liked his ability to find space and shoot the 3 ball as well as his ability to get up and down the floor in a hurry. It was his perimeter D that really stood out though. Griffin could really defend the point and didn’t really fall for ball moves or fakes on the perimeter. He kept a low and wide base and stayed chest to chest with his man.
