He also led his team to a 3-1 record and generated a lot of attention for himself. Jovan has a flare to his play that you don’t see too often in post players, giving him the edge. He has a high IQ offensively making it easy for him to get what he wants anywhere on the floor. Defensively, he has active hands in the passing lanes and has great timing on blocks.

Clayton Jones Clayton Jones 6’3″ | SF Thornton | 2025 State CO was the biggest surprise on the weekend for me. His play changed the way teams played on defense. Most teams tried to attack him on the wing hoping to create some sort of mismatch which didn’t work at all. Clayton is able to stay solid on defense and switch out on quicker guards multiple times. Offensively is where he was most important. Once he sealed the defender there was nothing they could do to get around his big body, making it easier for him to get whatever he wanted in the paint.

The high-energy guys are my favorite to watch during tournament events simply because of the way they’re able to change the outcome of games. Chris Rupert was that guy for Skills360 all weekend. His length and athleticism are game-changers on either side of the ball. In one possession he is anchoring the defense by changing shots at the rim or limiting teams to one shot and the next possession he is putting the ball on the floor and getting to rim.

One of the best things about having multiple tournaments in the same month is that it allows for new teams to come out and compete meaning new players to evaluate like Guillate Nkiadiabu. A kid I knew nothing about until last weekend and certainly won’t forget. He demanded so much attention during Rocky Mountain Mayhem whenever he was on the floor. His team felt comfortable shooting the ball knowing he was in the paint and could create second-chance opportunities for them. He also has a high motor and gets after it.

Brodie Mason Brodie Mason 6’8″ | PF Chaparral | 2025 State CO is physically intimidating, just by watching him in warmups you can tell you’re in for a long game down on the block. Although he is much skinner than your average post, he is as solid as they come he can’t be moved once he gains position. Brodie has a great back-to-the-basket game; his moves are fluid and quick making it hard to send the double team. Brodie was unstoppable over the course of the weeken
