PrepHoopsLive: Top Prospects Part 2
In this article:
Who are some of the top prospects that have caught our eye so far at Prep Hoops Live on Saturday? Here is our list!
Nasir Davis of New Mexico D1 (6’0 2024 guard from Hamilton, Arizona). Davis got to the Twin Cities late so he missed the game Friday night but was on the floor Saturday morning. In that game Davis quickly got off to a hot start separating from the Australians for a creation that led to a dunk. He then hit a three, blew by a player to score in the paint and hit another three. Davis was just getting his team going at AUSA and then hurt his ankle and was off the floor again. This is a talented PG though, a name to know for the future.
Nevarda Higgins of AUSA Australia (6’7 2023 forward from Australia). Higgins is a type of player I am big on: the defender who gets his length to the ball, collects, and pushes fast. Loved watching Higgins collect and lead the break. What I liked even more was his floor run leading to a couple explosive finishes. All around producer that has the size, length, and agility that a division one school would love to have.
Brooks Johnson Brooks Johnson 6'6" | SF Duluth Marshall | 2025 State MN of Starks Elite (6’6 2025 wing from Duluth Marshall). Johnson is a sophomore playing up a level and he was the key factor in Starks Elite beating a fast NEBC team. It was Johnson that had the ball in his hands most commonly including bringing the ball up the floor against pressure. Johnson showed off his skill in several ways but I think I was most impressed with the way he passed the ball. Johnson hit jumpers to score his 15, and he handles it well, but his six assists to teammates is what really caught me eye. He’s big at 6’6 but this is a guard/wing in terms of the game he plays.
Connor Morris of AUSA Australia (6’6 2023 shooting guard from Australia). If I need a shooter and I have a scholarship to give I am looking up Connor Morris. He’s got range, he’s got size, he’s got great form to catch and finish, and he has the confidence to kill a defense time and time again. Regardless of the time of game Morris is out here looking to dagger teams. he daggered New Mexico D1 with 23 points on 9 of 14 shooting including five threes. At 6’6 Connor has the size to play the wing and score over the top. Watch his name because I think he has a bright future in college basketball.
Neil Summers Neil Summers 6'8" | PF Laramie | 2025 #221 Nation WY of 24MD Team Daum (6’8 2025 of Laramie, Wyoming). Summers is a massive post presence that teams at this level just have not been able to do anything with. Team Daum is off to a great start and Summers is a big part of that including his 24 point, 13 rebound game today against the Broncos.
Shaun Wysocki Shaun Wysocki 6'7" | SF Rochester Century | 2024 State MN of Minnesota Lightning (6’6 2024 of Rochester Century). Shaun is the player that I think will come out of this event raising his stock the most. At 6’6 he’s a lefty with a touch that also moves very well meaning he can play the slasher role too. Wysocki gets off the ground in the explosive athletic way but he also has that track speed to get up the floor quicker than everybody else. He boards, he finishes at the rim, Wysocki showed a good mid-range touch, and he has all the tools (length, lateral quicks, good size) to be a great wing defender. This is a scholarship level talent and he had 23 points against Real Phenom. His brother plays at Minot State an I think Shaun is at least an NSIC level player.
