Jack Gross Jack Gross 6'5" | SG BOLD | 2025 State MN of Minnesota Rise (2024 guard from BOLD). Gross had 14 points last night scoring with two threes and I thought he did a fairly nice job facing a veteran guard, and a young talented guard on the other end. He is surprisingly long and has some quick feet both defensively and attacking with the basketball. Nice impression made last night in a good win.
Max Lorenson Max Lorenson 6'2" | SG Eden Prairie | 2025 State MN of Minnesota Select 16s (2025 guard from Eden Prairie). The Wisconsin guards had a terrible time stopping Lorenson from getting to the paint regardless if it was a ball screen or a one on one move to the cup. Lorenson physically beat them with the speed of his move, he beat them with the physical attack as he was bigger than the opposition, and he finished at the rim regardless of the type of help that arrived. Lorenson scored 21 points on 7 of 8 shooting with four assists.
Hanif Muhammad of Real Phenom (2024 guard from Breck, Minnesota). Muhammad had a great year at Breck and he is a player I have been looking forward to seeing. Friday night when he led his team to a win, Hanif lived up to the expectations. The first thing I loved about the 5’11 point guard was his ball pressure. He moved his feet at a high level causing discomfort to his opponents every possession down. Hanif also grabbed nine rebounds seeking out the basketball to push the other way. His touch netted him 16 points combining the quality jumper with mid-lane finishes. All in all I think Hanif is going to be a very good college point guard and he’s a player I could see having a huge senior year.
Ben Shaffer Ben Shaffer 6'0" | PG Wayzata | 2024 State MN of Real Phenom (2024 guard from Wayzata, Minnesota). Another Wayzata kid? Yes. And Ben has looked brilliant this April coming off a March where he was called on for a state champ and he delivered. Shaffer has that Wayzata fight to him defensively but he’s also shooting the basketball with feet set or off of one dribble at a very high percentage. Scored 14 points last night.
Owen Waldoch Owen Waldoch 6'7" | PF Forest Lake | 2024 State MN of Minnesota Fury (2024 forward from Forest Lake). I don’t think anybody played harder last night than Owen. His battle to second chance scores, his fight to post position, his floor run, and his physical defense all led to a nine point, ten rebound performance, and another Fury win. With college coaches surrounding their game in all four corners Waldoch played as hard as one can and it everybody took notice.
Mikey Wildes of Team 1848 (2025 guard from Kimberly, Wisconsin). I really like Mikey as a combo guard. He’s a stoic, confident guard that put up 17 against good guards from Minnesota on 7 of 11 shooting. Thought he did a nice job of creating space to playmake and when his move didn’t get the space one would like, he still seemed to calmly make a play despite the defensive attention. Quality touch on balance but even when he had to make adjustments the ball seemed to comfortably come from him for a good attempt.
