One of the oldest live period events in the country took place this past weekend, as Hoop Group put on their annual Pitt Jamfest. As always, the event was loaded with teams and prospects from all over the country, and the baselines were packed with college coaches from all over the country as well.

We'll be breaking down some of the standouts from all over the Prep Hoops Networks, looking here at some of the prospects from teams from New England.

[player_tooltip player_id='1585151' first='Azmar' last='Abdullah'] | 6'3” PG | BCRI 17U

Abdullah was one of the breakout players in the HGSL at Pitt, as he showed a good all-around skillset and picked up an offer from Southern New Hampshire with more to come this summer for sure. He has good size for a lead guard with long arms and plays with pace, and he gets to his spots effortlessly where he can score it and make plays for others. He plays with pace, shoots it well from deep and has a good IQ and the “it” factor you want from a lead guard.

[player_tooltip player_id='1205479' first='Eze' last='Wali'] | 6'1” CG | BCRI 17U

Wali is the other part of this dynamic backcourt for BCRI, and he showed some explosive play as he is a big time athlete that shows a lot of upside moving forward. While he's only 6'1”, he showed the ability to play above the rim and he has good hang time when he gets downhill to finish though contact. He made shots from deep consistently and he showed a lot of potential on the defensive end as well.

[player_tooltip player_id='1468436' first='Oscar' last='Edelman'] | 6'9” C | Mass Rivals HGSL 17U

Edelman had a great weekend as he helped lead Rivals to a championship appearance, and he showed a lot of improvement from the past year. The 6'9” big man is highly skilled as he can post and is patient, can score it over the shoulder and he's a good passer out of double teams. He can stretch the floor with his shooting ability and he plays with a good feel and IQ as well.

[player_tooltip player_id='1106072' first='Anthony' last='Troncellito'] | 6'1” PG | Mass Rivals HGSL 17U

Troncellito was perhaps Rivals' most consistent player on the weekend, as he showed a good skillset and made winning plays for his team. He handled the ball well and made great decisions, he set the tone on the defensive end and he scored the ball efficiently from multiple levels. He's a very good shooter from deep off the catch and he has good feel as a scorer and distributor with the ball in his hands.

Matthew Gaffney | 6'0” CG | Mass Rivals HGSL 17U '25

Gaffney is one of a number of underclassmen that played up on this group, and he was huge for them, particularly on Sunday. While he isn't the biggest or most athletic player, he has a toughness to him as he competes on both ends and he's a talented shot maker on the offensive end. He has effortless range from deep and can make shots on and off the ball, and he's very good at drawing contact and getting to the line when he gets downhill.

[player_tooltip player_id='1586489' first='Khalil' last='Badru'] | 6'3” WG | Team New England 17U

Badru was one of the most impressive athletes in the event, as the Newman School wing was a walking highlight throughout the event. He has natural speed both with the ball in his hands and when running the wing, and he's super bouncy when he gets to the rim and will rise up and put it down over top of defenders bigger than him. He showed the ability to knock down shots from deep off the catch, he rebounds well for his position and he showed a lot of upside as a defender.

[player_tooltip player_id='1489336' first='Kingston' last='Walker'] | 6'4” CG | Team New England 17U

Walker was one of the most impressive prospects in the HGSL, as the 6'4” guard had coaches watching regularly with his blend of size, athleticism and skillset being very intriguing. He checks the boxes physically with good size and long arms, and he's smooth off the bounce as he can break down defenders and make plays for himself and others when he gets in the lane. He's a three level scorer who can play on or off the ball, and he uses his length and athleticism to make plays defensively too.
