The HGSL, which is Hoop Group’s circuit, features some of the top teams from across the country, with an endless amount of prospects for all levels.
Here’s a look at part two of some of the HGSL Prospects to keep an eye on from NY teams in attendance.
Jack Nieradko | 6’9” PF | NY Lightning
Nieradko had a big junior season at Kingswood Oxford in Connecticut, and this summer he should see division one schools following him quite a bit. At 6’9” he has a mix of versatility and athleticism as he can play on the perimeter and knock down shots, he runs the floor hard and can play above the rim on both ends of the floor and he can score in the paint both off post ups and by hitting the offensive glass.
Chris Judge | 6’0” PG | NY Lightning
Judge was one of the best point guards in NYC this season for John Bowne, and he just has winning qualities to his game that you have to love. He’s a natural leader who sets the tone on both ends of the floor and controls the tempo, he’s shifty off the bounce and able to get in the lane where he is a crafty finisher and he’s a dead eye shooter from deep as well.
Anthony Follett Anthony Follett 6'3" | SG Portledge | 2023 State NY | 6’3” PG | LI Lightning ‘23
Follett is an available senior that will be a steal for whatever program gets him, as he is another lead guard who is a selfless leader that just makes winning plays. He’s a skilled point guard who shoots it well from deep both off the catch and off the bounce, he’s a gritty defender who guards the ball well and fights for 50-50 balls and he makes everyone on his team better as a playmaker and leader.
Jabi Alberto | 6’6” WG | NY Jayhawks ‘23
Alberto is another unsigned guard that coaches should take a hard look at, as he is a big guard with a lot of skill and talent to his game. His great positional size coupled with his ability to shoot it makes him a deadly threat from deep even against a good closeouts, he’s quicker than he looks and can blow by defenders where he’s a crafty finisher around the rim and he has a good IQ and makes the right reads with the ball in his hands.
Tyler Reigel | 6’3” CG | NY Jayhawks
Reigel had a good junior season at Mifflinburg (PA) and he’s one of the most skilled and fundamental players on this list. The 6’3” guard can play on or off the ball and he can handle with both hands and uses his body well to finish at the rim, he can move off the ball where he works well to get open and has picturesque form on his jumper and he will compete defensively and on the glass as well.
