Continue ReadingTomlin is transitioning nicely into a stretch 4. He has a smooth jumper, and is accurate from behind the three point line. He served a lot as a floor spacing big, look for him to play more out of pick and pop action in the future.

Contreras is the epitome of a skilled big. He showed of offensive versatility, scoring from almost every area of the court. He has a skilled back to the basket game, which allowed him to punish smaller defenders. He shot it well, even coming off down screens and showing the ability to make shots from different body angles. What was most impressive about him was what he did with the ball in his hands, Contreras played some point forward, handling against pressure, and even playmaking for teammates.
Marcus Shumate
Marcus Shumate
Shumate is a bruising forward with suprisingly nimble feet. He has some of the best hands that I have seen so faw this summer, as time and time he caught in traffic passes, with no signs of bobbles. He displayed good footwork after the catch, scoring over his left shoulder with ease, and adding some counters as well.
Anderson was terrific and in both games I saw, looked like the most dominant player on the floor. His best skill is his unique ability to grab an offensive rebound and start the break. He was more aggressive this weekend, as sometimes the 6’6 forward would decide to slow down keep it himself, and simply bully the unfortunate defender waiting for him in transition. He finished aggressively around the rim and shot it well out to 15 feet.

Howie Wu
Howie Wu
Don’t let the size full you, Wu has no problem showing his skill. He is an agile rim runner, with good feet. Several times he dropped jaws, with his ability to Euro step full speed in transition. He finished one such play with a thunderous two handed dunk.
Abott Fluckey
Abott Fluckey
Fluckey is a young unsigned senior who is thinking of spending a year at a JC. The lefty likes to play outside on both sides of the ball, as he has good range on his shot blocking ability. He’s a raw big that is still developing however he flashed glimpsed of passing and IQ during the game I saw.
