Johnson was cooking in the game I saw. He’s an aggressive PG that used a tight handle to get to any spot he wanted. He was able to seperate from defenders off the bounce, allowing him to raise up and knock down some tough contested jumpers. Showed good COD’s including a quick left to right crossover.
Robinson has a nice handle, I’ve seen him play quite a bit, but didn’t notice his skill until recently. He’s quick with the ball, showing the ability to use crossovers to shake defensers. He did a remarkable job beating full court pressure, using a strong handle to dribble through traps.
Gaeta had an impressive weekend, with some eye opening performances. His handle was without a doubt his strongest skill, and he used it to control the Wolverines offense. He showed off some slick COD’s including a smooth behind the back dribble that allowed him to avoid defenders in full court pressure. What was most impressive about his handle, was his ability to use it to get to the rim consistenly.
The class of 2024 physical specimen was one of the top prospects at the event. He displayed a unique ability to shake defenders when he was against full court pressure as well as in 1 v 1 situations. He had several smooth COD’s including a nice behind the back move that allowed him to allude a trap. At nearly 6’7 with a powerful frame, his handle makes him a dangerous offensive wing threat.
Simeus has a solid frame and a strong handle. He’s terrific at getting downhill and attacking the rim, however he also plays with wiggle when he’s in 1 v 1 situations. He used hesitations and has a strong right to left crossover which allowed him to seperate from defenders looking to pressure him.
Yapi is an offensively skilled PG with terrific shiftyness. He passes the test in all three phases of ballhandling including, beating pressure, getting to the rim, and seperating for jumpers. He’s was one of the better off the bounce shooters at the event.
