Friday evening will mark the start of an approximately 48 hour period where Division I coaches can be out on the recruiting trail getting a live look at prospects. While the shoe circuits get going in Atlanta (EYBL), Omaha (3SSB), and Phoenix (UAA), the best of the rest will be right here in the greater Indianapolis area. The NY2LA Spring Extravaganza will feature several of the best non-shoe circuit teams from the state of Indiana including some Division I level prospects. There will be plenty of talent for coaches at all levels to check out while in Indianapolis this weekend. Let’s take a look at 7 prospects in the Hoosier state worth checking out at the Spring Extravaganza.
The Class of 2025 in Indiana is loaded with dynamic point guards and Carpenter is up there among the best of them. He is excellent off of the dribble knifing his way into the paint, is a great passer, and scores it well in the intermediate range. Look for him playing up an age group this weekend with George Hill All Indy 2024.

Arguably the best available prospect in Indiana’s Class of 2023, this talented guard will be playing with George Hill All Indy Unsigned this weekend. Dancler is a big time scorer making 63 three-pointers while averaging 18.3 points per game at Southport as a senior. He missed all of last spring and summer with an injury. Has now returned to the Division I level player he was pre-injury. Any low-major still looking for some scoring should watch Dancler this weekend.

Don’t forget about this high upside forward just because he is playing on a non-Indiana team this spring. Gustin is a long 6’7″ athlete that rebounds his area well, can block shots around the rim, and has an ever-developing offensive skill set. He can face up out to three-point range, can finish up above the rim, and handles the ball a little bit. Recently picked up his first Division I offer from Mercer. Look for him playing in Pool A with All Ohio Select.

This 6’4″ wing has already burst onto the scene this spring with some big time offensive outputs. Haywood has put up multiple 20+ and 30+ point performances on the NY2LA Circuit and will look to continue his strong play into this weekend’s live period. Should have coaches at all levels following him with his Progeny 2024 squad.

Schmitz put together an excellent weekend at IndyBall last weekend averaging 22 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 3.3 assists per game. He is a very good shooter, handles the well, and has some sneaky athleticism in the backcourt. Very high academic as well which should help attract plenty of college programs this summer.

A Top 10 prospect in Indiana’s Class of 2025, Townsend should start to see his offer list grow in the coming months. The powerful 6’5″ wing has developed into a true “point forward” sort of player. He often initiates the offense as he is an excellent ball handler and passer, but has the size and strength to bully his way through smaller defenders around the rim. Very intriguing prospect who will play up a year with George Hill All Indy 2024 this weekend.
