FALLS CHURCH, VA -- Here are some of my notes from the annual NOVA Cavaliers scrimmage that took place at Marshall High School on Monday night.

[player_tooltip player_id='1759745' first='Ryan' last='Bradshaw'] | 6'2" guard | Langley '24

Bradshaw's main skill is his ability to put the ball in the basket. He's an assasin from the mid post. Bradshaw is shifty with the ball and knows how to relocate to get open off the ball. He keeps his dribble alive and is a very good improvisor. Bradshaw is prolific at scoring from all three levels and doesn't mind contact. He is also a relentless rebounder who competes on defense.

[player_tooltip player_id='1767542' first='Theo' last='Burke'] | 5'10" guard | WT Woodson '25

Burke is a relaible point guard who has a tight handle and plays at his own tempo without getting sped up. He has a solid all-around game. Burke is a competitor on defense. He recorded multiple deflections and was vigilant on the glass. Burke is tireless. You'll never see him force the issue. He runs the offense first and only looks to score when he absolutely has to. Burke is quite capable of scoring in bunches despite the fact that he chooses to play unselfishly.

[player_tooltip player_id='1948417' first='Steven' last='Cruz'] | 5'10" guard | Madison '24

Cruz applied consistent pressure on the ball defensively. He scored from behind the arc, from the mid range, and made a layup.

[player_tooltip player_id='1759749' first='Bryce' last='Donovan'] | 6'6" forward | WT Woodson '24

Donovan is a lefty who can use his right hand to finish. He finished a layup in the lane through contact.

[player_tooltip player_id='1489084' first='Sean' last='Donovan'] | 6'6" forward | WT Woodson '24

Donovan is a shot blocker and a lob threat who can also hit the elbow jumper.

[player_tooltip player_id='1759732' first='Jose' last='Fudd'] | 6'2" guard | Marshall '24

Fudd is a knockdown shooter who competes consistently on defense and rebounds his position. He is effective at using step backs to create space for his shot. Fudd is also a prolific mid-range pull-up jump shooter.

[player_tooltip player_id='2242496' first='David' last='Gantumur'] | 5'9" guard | WT Woodson '25

Gantumur is shifty with the ball. He is also a threat from three, particularly from the corner.

[player_tooltip player_id='2242390' first='Noah' last='Limbago'] | 6'0" guard | WT Woodson '25

Limbago is a physical, versatile player who brings contagious energy to the court. He brings positive intangibles to the team such as his ability to communicate and play hard on every possession. Limbago's breakaway dunk was one of the more memorable highlights of the scrimmage.

[player_tooltip player_id='1489081' first='Jason' last='Penn'] | 6'1" guard | Marshall '24

Penn is a dynamic guard who impacts the game in many ways. He was responsible defensively both with his consistent ball pressure and his gap awareness in help side. Penn has the ability to score at will or initiate the offense with his playmaking.

[player_tooltip player_id='1489114' first='Ronier' last='Peters'] | 6'1" guard | Fairfax '24

Peters has grown physically in recent months. He is a powerful guard who locks up on the ball defensively, sets solid screens to free up teammates, and routinely wins 50/50's.

[player_tooltip player_id='1489103' first='Grant' last='Polk'] | 6'6" wing | Gainesville '24

Polk is a flat-out sniper who is capable of hitting contested shots and making it look easy. He has range that extends far beyond the three-point line and a killer step back. Polk can also mix it up around the basket and finish inside.

[player_tooltip player_id='1948415' first='Owen' last='Pottenburgh'] | 6'7" center | Hayfield '24

The first thing that I noticed about Pottenburgh was how good of a communicator he is. He is a robust lane protector who knows how to wall up and challenge shots without fouling. Pottenburgh has long arms and a broad frame that should fill out over time. He often tried to rebound the ball at it's highest point, and would release the ball almost immediately every time for a quick outlet pass. Pottenburgh also showed the willingness to consistently run the floor hard.

[player_tooltip player_id='1948418' first='Owen' last='Spurlock'] | 6'5" forward | WT Woodson '24

Spurlock is a rangy left-hander who is an excellent rebounder. He is also a smart defender and passer. Spurlock connected on a 15-foot pull-up jumper.

[player_tooltip player_id='2242420' first='Cam' last='Yingling'] | 6'2" guard | Fairfax '25

Yingling is a bouncy guard who hit multiple threes from the corner. He stood out offensively because of his court vision and deliberate use of ball fakes. Yingling also didn't hesitate to throw it ahead to open teammates in transition.
