Here are some “new name” seniors who earned all-league recognition this year:
Central Kansas League:
Carson Hoeme, 6-foot guard, 2023 Pratt – 1st team
Hoeme received second-team all-state mention from Sports in Kansas and was a leader for a solid 16-7 Pratt team. He was a productive guard as a senior, averaging 17 points, 4.5 rebounds and 3 assists.
Central Plains League:
Nolan Freund, 6-foot guard, 2023 Kingman – 1st team
A playmaking guard, Freund was dynamic in transition and did just about everything for the Eagles. He produced 16 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 steals. Freund had some big games, but none bigger than the 37 points he posted in an upset of state-bound Bennington.
Central Prairie League:
Brayden Schniepp, 5-foot-8 guard, Ness City – 2nd team
A small but highly active guard, Schniepp provided senior leadership and ballhandling for the Eagles. He tallied 11 points, 5 rebounds and 4.5 assists.
Heart of America League:
Creighton Kukula, 6-foot-3 forward, 2023, Berean Academy – 1st team
Here’s a name you probably haven’t heard. That is unless you play in the Heart of America League, where the senior Kukula’s contribution was recognized with first-team honors. He’s a long, athletic shooter who consistently produced and was given some all-state mentions.
Heart of the Plains League:
Bryan Steadman, 6-foot-1 guard, Pretty Prairie – 1st team
A long, active playmaker at the point or on the wing, Steadman did just about everything for a competitive Bulldogs team. He averaged 17 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals as a senior.
