Donte Wimberly (Ann Arbor Huron) – Wimberly scored from all 3 levels. He went up high to finish at the rim and showed solid body control on those finishes. Wimberly showed that he could deliver a precision pass while in the air as well.
Chase Carter (Ann Arbor Pioneer) – Carter was solid with the ball in his hands. He was able to deliver some pin point passes as well as finish high and strong at the rim. Carter kept his dribble low, close and protected.
Malachi Thomas (Arbor Prep) – Thomas showed some real upside as a ballhandler that can attack the rim. He always kept his head up and saw the traffic around him. Thomas did a nice job fending off the defense when scoring at the basket.
Rekhi Reed (Ypsilanti Lincoln) – Reed stood out to me with his vocal leadership. He was comfortable being relied upon as a primary ball handler and was able to hit small targets with his passes. Reed also showed a quick first step with the ball in his hands.
Matthew Jones (Wima) – Jones was a powerful young player. He was able to go up strong and score at the rim, but also showed that he’ll be able to stretch the floor by stepping out and hitting a triple.
Maurice Lynch (Scarlett) – Lynch was a bouncy athlete that moves well on the floor with good footwork. As he develops a go-to move and a counter move, his game can take off.
Akil Frye (Ann Arbor Huron) – Frye ran the floor really hard throughout the workout. He was able to score with his length and hustle. Frye showed off a pretty spin move with a touch finish.
Derrick Stevenson (Ypsi MS) – I really liked Stevenson’s potential as a ball handler and creator. He had sticky hands with great ball control when it was in his hands. It was like the ball never left his fingers.
Delano McDaniels (Ypsi MS) – McDaniels was incredibly impressive. He was very fast and handled the ball with his head up. He was able to beat the defense back with his speed and score. McDaniels was a solid passer that was able to hit his targets with a bounce pass and even picked up an assist with a behind the back pass.
Erron Slaughter (Catholic Central) – Slaughter showed his upside at the workout last week. He was a smooth athlete that looked like he could play at any pace.
Terryond Drummer (Ypsi MS) – Drummer will be a player to keep an eye on. He was long and athletic and could really utilize that combo in the next few years. Drummer showed the ability to score at the rim with creativity.
Brooks was getting a run in after a stellar senior season. He challenged the defense at the rim and scored with confidence and strength. Brooks showed off a pretty step back jumper that had a lot of control. He will be attending school at, and playing basketball for, Adrian College next year.
