2023 Rankings Update: New Additions

Averaged 21 points per game and 12 rebounds per game while leading Deming to the second round of the 4A Boys State Tournament. Finished top 10 in scoring and top three in rebounding in New Mexico this past year. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1875330' first='Michael' last='Mackey']</strong> | SG | Hobbs: One of the state's best scorers from this past season. Averaged 22.8 points per game which ranked 7th in the state this past season which included a career high 51 point-game earlier in the year. Was selected as a 2022-23 All-Star. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1885936' first='Geleio' last='Griego']</strong> | SG | Los Lunas: Was selected as an All-Star during the 2022-23 season for the Los Lunas Tigers. Led the Tigers to the 5A State Semifinals and recently committed to Northern New Mexico to continue his basketball career at the next level. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1875286' first='Aiden' last='Pacini']</strong> | SG | Organ Mountain: An underrated shooting guard that played a huge role for the Organ Mountain Knights trip to the 5A State Semifinals. Was easily the teams second best player throughout this season. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1875348' first='Josh' last='Sanchez']</strong> | CG | St. Michael's: The second-best player on the St. Michael's 3A State Championship team. An underrated scorer and playmaker that can take over the game. The Horsemen wouldn't be State Champs without his services. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1875359' first='Jodaiah' last='Padilla']</strong> | SG | Pecos: Was the best player on the 2A State Champions this past year. Was the team's leading scorer and had an old school type of game getting to his spots whenever he wanted. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1888317' first='Devon' last='Ramos']</strong> | CG | Volcano Vista: One of the state's best spot-up &amp; catch-and-shoot three-point shooters in the State. A perfect fit in the Volcano Vista system that got him two State Championship Titles throughout his career. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1875360' first='Malik' last='Barrens']</strong> | PG | Pecos: The captain of the ship for the 2A State Champions. [player_tooltip player_id='1875360' first='Malik' last='Barrens'] leadership guided Pecos all season long in their revenge tour from the season prior. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1875361' first='Zachary' last='Fox']</strong> | CG | Pecos: An outstanding tw0-way guard that takes pride on both ends of the floor. Does a great job moving his feet defensively on the perimeter by staying in front of his opposing matchup and is a reliable shooter/scorer on the other end of the floor. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1875284' first='Micah' last='Quintana']</strong> | CG | Volcano Vista: A defensive guard that provided valuable minutes throughout the season en route to Volcano Vista's second straight State Title. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1875285' first='Lazerik' last='Hill']</strong> | PG | Volcano Vista: A quicky and shifty scoring first guard who came in off the bench from the second unit. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1875287' first='Thomas' last='Ordonez']</strong> | PF | Los Lunas: Provided size, rebounding and defense for the Los Lunas Tigers this past season. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1875308' first='Manny' last='Sedillo']</strong> | CG | Atrisco Heritage: A unselfish guard that is at his best when he's aggressive looking to score. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1875311' first='Mikey' last='Wood']</strong> | SG | Rio Rancho: One of the Rams most important players that was responsible for much of the team's success this year. A very underrated midrange scorer. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1875312' first='Rob' last='Martinez']</strong> | PF | Santa Fe: The Demons biggest X-Factor. A reliable inside scorer and held his own defensively vs other opposing big's. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1875321' first='Izayah' last='Sanchez-Valencia']</strong> | CG | Capital: The best player on a team that snuck into the 5A Boys State Tournament. Was selected as a 2022-23 All-Star and was a gritty player who can match just about anyone point for point. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1875333' first='Brandon' last='Medina']</strong> | PF | Highland: A knockdown three-point shooter who spaced the floor well for Highland HS. Versatile enough to play multiple positions. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1875334' first='Gene' last='Trujillo']</strong> | C | St. Pius X: One of the biggest and strongest players in the state.
