-- In all five games, one of the teams will be seeking to repeat as state champion. Volcano Vista will be trying for the five-peat in Class 5A. Cleveland advanced to the 5A title game for the first time since 2021 when they lifted the blue trophy with a win over Las Cruces. These fierce district rivals are meeting for the SIXTH time this season. Volcano Vista holds a 3-2 edge and won the last two clashes.

-- Artesia will try to go back-to-back as Class 4A champion. The Bulldogs are taking on Highland in the title game for the second straight year. Last March, the Hornets made a Cinderella run to the championship game as the No. 8 seed, knocking off the No. 1 and No. 4 seeds along the way. This year, Highland is the No. 1 seed. The Hornets carry an impressive 19-game winning streak into Saturday.

These district rivals are squaring off for the third time this season, so there won't be any secrets.

-- Another possible Cinderella is 2A's Rehoboth Christian. The Lynx entered the state tournament as the No. 6 seed, but rallied past No. 3 Mesa Vista in overtime in the quarterfinals and beat No. 2 sed Pecos in the semifinals on Friday. Rehoboth Christian has length and have an elite scorer in [player_tooltip player_id='2827325' first='Trajen' last='West']. Texico is looking to go back-to-back as 2A champions. In fact, Texico is aiming for the football-basketball double for the second straight year. The Wolverines are unquestionably the premier athletics programs in Class 2A.

-- Logan is looking to repeat as Class 1A champions against district rival Fort Sumner/House. Logan features the dynamic duo of [player_tooltip player_id='1717329' first='Mason' last='Wallin'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1717249' first='Hayden' last='Bruhn']. This contest marks the fifth meeting this season between these two teams. The last two contests have gone to OT. Each team has won twice.
