Jenkins surely makes the Cougars offense go while on the floor. The Cougars came into the Class AAAA and upset #2 George Washington HS 52-47 on the opening day. Jamari really likes to use the crossover dribble at times to race by defenders on the way to the cup. Jenkins was able to work the mid-range game at times today along with a nice pull-up game. Jamari really likes to work the floater in the lane from time to time. Jenkins really is the floor general for the Cougars and likes to play the game at 94 feet at times.
Kellum was great to watch play here today for the Black Eagles. Roman would play with his back to the basket at times and really shows to have a nose for the ball on both ends of the floor. He collected several defensive rebounds on the day. Roman was able to finish with both hands around the cup and even on a few reverse layups. Kellum plays with a HIGH MOTOR and never seems to turn it off for the Black Eagles. He always remains active on both ends of the court.
Bonner got the Mountain Lions to the Class A State Championship before falling to James Monroe HS. Trevan has a extremely high arching shot at times. He has no problems from letting it fly from downtown well behind the 3-point line. Trevan plays the game with some toughness and grit. He’s a capable ball-handler and he always seems to be around the ball to make a play for the Mountain Lions.
Schramm and the Yellow Jackets lost in the semifinals and finished the season at (25-1) in Class AA. Parker came into the tourney averaging 15.7 ppg this season. He really did a good job of getting into his spots at times to connect on some perimeter jumpers. Parker is a worker on and off the floor and always seemed to be in communication with his teammates. Parker excels on the baseball diamond in the spring for the Yellow Jackets.
Hatfield is a heck of an athlete for the Huskies. Dane plays Quarterback in the fall for Hoover HS. Dane scored 22 points, grabbed 8 rebounds and dished 5 assists in a loss to Scott HS 68-62. Dane a bit of a 2/3 on the floor connected on all 3 levels today for the Huskies. He really plays the game with a good deal of confidence.
Luzader is a strong post player from Blacksville. Preston was able to connect on some short jumpers around the cup for the Cee Bees. He was able to use his body to seal off defenders down in the paint. Preston connected on a few stick-backs off the glass. He really showed to have a good set of hands and the ability to score off the pick and roll to the basket. Luzader scored 17 points in the opening round game.

look to be a nice 1-2 punch for the Panthers in the years to come. Joey has a slender build but that didn’t slow him down from taking on charges here today. Golihue was able to come off screens at times and hit the mid-range jumper. He finished a few buckets with some moves around the cup. Joey came into the State Tourney averaging 17.1 ppg this season.
