Cannon Jr was named MVP of the USA National Prep Championships in an overtime win over Mount Zion Christian Academy on Saturday. Bobby came up big in overtime with game winner late in the game. He really has developed his game this season with the ability to stretch the floor and make the 3-ball. Cannon Jr really does a nice job of altering and challenging shots on the defensive end of the floor.
Bobby has a soft touch and a good skill set on the floor. He really remains vocal on the floor with his teammates at all times. Cannon Jr told Prep Hoops that he will run with Garner Road s on the Grassroots Circuit this coming season. Bobby finished with 14 points in the Championship Game.
Anderson came up big time after time this weekend. Jermaurhiyun is a left-handed guard who can score the ball from all 3 levels on the floor at times. He showed a nice mid-range jumper after dropping some tough contested 3-pointers. Anderson will shake and bake to the cup and show a nice 1-2 dribble pullup at times.
Anderson originally from Greenville, SC is in his second season with the Fighting Pharaohs. He scored 12 points in the championship game vs Mount Zion Christian Academy.
Gardner originally hails from Albany, GA. Zion is a big young man down in the post for the Holy Rams. He has really good footwork and length around the basket. Zion did a nice job of being versatile and defending on the perimeter at times. He didn’t receive a lot of touches on the offensive floor to showcase his skills. He previously attended Dougherty HS before coming to Word of God Christian Academy.
James was active all weekend long with his play for the Monarchs. Kaleb at times looked to stalk the baseline and finish at the basket. He remained highly effective playing around the basket and just staying active at all times. Kaleb brought the ball up in transition at times for the Monarchs.
James was highly effective all weekend long with his play and production. He remained efficient with shot making and the ability to get to the foul line and convert free throws. He constantly kept his motor turned on and it showed in the box score. Kaleb is a tough player to take off the floor because he brings so much production to the game when on the floor.
Rochelle is in his second season here at Mount Zion Christian Academy. He originally started off at Lee Christian School in Sanford, NC. D’Marquez is a good size wing player who really excels in the catch-shoot game. He’s constantly moving from corner to corner and wing to wing for his shot. Rochelle has a quick shot release and always seems to be ready to receive the ball in the pocket. He finished with 10 points today in the loss to Quality Education Academy. D’Marquez tied up the game in regulation to force the overtime.
