Continue ReadingRobinson has played with a roaring amount of confidence all season long and the bright lights of Wells Fargo Arena did not change things the slightest. He dribbled into a top of the key 3 pointer with such smooth rhythm, as part of one of his two 3s on the day. The Tiger guard stayed on the prowl and was in attack mode against the Warriors. He pushed the ball in transition and lived at the rim. His dribble drives lead to him getting to the line 6 times, converting all 6 tries. He ended with a team high 14 points.
Bechen played all 32 minutes Wednesday in the nightcap of the 1A semifinals. He helped lead the #2 seed Lynx back to the title game after an impressive comeback. From 16 down, Bechen corralled the Lynx and helped them to stay the course and chip away at the Hawks lead. The head of the snake for North Linn, he can create his own shot and give nightmares to those trying to stay in front of him. He can attack with either hand and is keen to finish with either hand in the paint.
Jirak caught a post feed on the left block, spun baseline and finished with a quick right hand and quickly settled into the quarterfinal against #5 seed Norwalk. His offensive post game also featured a left foot drop step into a left hand finish. On the defensive end, Jirak provides a much needed rim protecter presence and altered countless shots. His 12 points and 10 rebounds gave him the lone double-double in their state quarterfinal win.
The sophomore PG is a joy to watch on the hardwood for the Tigers. His ability to stop on a dime and elevate over other guards is that of a next level skillset. He can take his defenders to the hole with either hand and when a second defender is drawn to shut down the attacking lane his reads are exceptional in finding the open teammate. His long-guard frame keeps his hands in the passing lanes and disrupts the flow offensively from other primary ballhandlers. His 12 points and 4 rebounds helped the Tigers advance on into Thursday’s 4A semifinal.

Thomas is a player to watch for Norwalk the next 2 years. The Warriors graduate 7 seniors and will look too Thomas to emerge as a player to lean upon more. Thomas must be boxed out while he’s on the floor, and when Valley didn’t he gathered a big offensive rebound which led to an Aiden Carter layup that closed the gap in the 3rd. Using his frame well, the sophomore forward runs in transition well, he strides out, and was able o get a left hand finish in transition in doing so.
