We will start with our point guards in this year’s junior class. If you have a player who deserves to be recognized, please send @RossVDG14 a direct message on Twitter.
The 6-1 junior guard is a reliable ball handler and can also be a facilitator when he plays off the ball. During his high school season at Edgewater, Taylor averaged 13.0 points, 3.7 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game. Taylor has a very mature game which has created attention as he can score in a variety of ways as well. Taylor currently holds an offer from Stetson University.
The 6-2 guard has a ton of potential to become a D-1 prospect as he brings all the tools. Bell is a shifty guard who can cause a lot of attention to defenses whether he is a score first or pass first guard. He has a consistent mid-range jumper and can shoot from the perimeter with space. Bell currently holds an offer from NJIT.
Highlights
The 6-2 shooting guard has the intangibles to become a reliable scorer as he showed in the Class 6A Semifinal against Wekiva where he scored a game-high 34 points on 8 made 3-pointers. Ritchie’s game is mature beyond his years as he can create his own shot whether it’s from beyond the arc or penetrating to the basket.
The 6-3 guard has a smooth touch to his game as he is coming off a junior season where he averaged 20.6 points and 9.4 rebounds per game. Naylor can also shoot from beyond the arc as he shot 35 percent from 3-point distance this past season. On the defensive end he is an anchor and leader out on the floor as well.
The 6-4 guard can be a disruptor on the defensive end as he often turns steals into fast break layups on the other end. Brown has a two-dimensional attribute to his game where he can also score from beyond the arc where he shot 32 percent from beyond the arc this past season for Bolles. Brown averaged 19.9 points, 3.5 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game as a junior.
The 6-3 guard has plenty of size and speed to be an elite guard, sometimes he just gets out of control. Granville averaged 7.3 points, 3.8 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game this past season for University School. In limited attempts he can also shoot from beyond the arc knocking down 3-pointers at a 44 percent clip.
The 6-3 shooting guard and Mercer University commit has a smooth all-around game whether it’s his perimeter shooting or finishing around the rim. This past season Jackson averaged 18.0 points, 4.1 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game for Episcopal School of Jacksonville. He also has a smooth catch-and-shoot release where he shot 40 percent from the field this season.
The 6-4 shooting guard is one of the best shooters in the Class of 2024, as he finished his first season playing at IMG Academy after transferring from Pennsylvania after his sophomore season. On the defensive end he is quick at reading passes and has great length where it makes it difficult for his opposition to get a good shot. Baldassarre will be playing with Born To Impact Elite on the Grassroots season this spring and summer.
