Miles Montgomery
Miles Montgomery
It was an exciting season for Minford High School. They had an overall record of 22-2. He was named the 2023 Southeast District Co-Player of the year. Miles Montgomery spearheaded the Falcons resurgence to the top of the SOC II. He is an electric quick point guard with above average handles. He averaged 22.6 points per game. 4.3 rebounds per game and 5.3 assists per game. What sets him apart is his floor vision. He can get to any spot on the floor he wants. He is a combo guard and can score the ball as well as assist. He has a quick release and can make shots from anywhere. He is adept at shooting off the dribble, catching and shooting off the ball or coming off screens. He has above average basketball IQ. He plays above average defense. Can guard players 1-3. He usually accepts the challenge of guarding the other team’s best guard. He has quick hands and quick feet which allow him to stay in front of opposing players. He averaged 2.9 steals per game. His desire and hustle make him a great defender. 2024 Montgomery looks to surpass his totals and lead Minford to the State Championship.
Bennett Kayser
Bennett Kayser
Bennett Kayser was part of a Minford High School team that went 22-2. He helped lead them to an SOC II championship and the District Final in the playoffs. He averaged 13.5 points per game, 6.2 rebounds per game and 1.0 assists per game. He has great range. He is smart with the ball and picks his spots on the floor. He can shoot off the dribble, attack and score at the rim and shoot 3’s with consistency. He is a defensive stalwart for Minford. He averaged 1.6 steals a game and 0.8 blocks. Those stats do not tell the pressure he put on opposing offenses with his on the ball defense. He is 6’4 with a wingspan of 7 foot. In 2024, he hopes to improve his stats and continue his dominance on the court. He for sure will be an intriguing prospect to watch next year on the court for Minford High School.

Caleb Lovely Caleb Lovely 6’2″ | SG South Point | 2024 State OH is a 6-3 combo guard. He can handle or shoot the rock. He led South Point High School to an overall record of 22-4. He was named Southeast District Co-player of the Year in 2023. He is a lefty with a lot of intangibles. He averaged 22.4 points per game, 5.3 rebounds per game, 2.1 assists per game and 1.3 steals per game. His handles are near flawless. He can score the ball at the rim or shoot it from deep. He can catch and shoot the ball or shoot off the dribble. He is a two-way player that commands double teams. He is a nightmare matchup for any opposing coach to prepare for. The pressure he puts on defenses is often insurmountable and his overall playmaking is what makes him a top prospect. 2024 Caleb Lovely Caleb Lovely 6’2″ | SG South Point | 2024 State OH hopes to improve on his stats from 2023 and lead his team to a State Championship.

Dannie Maynard Dannie Maynard 5'9" Chesapeake | 2024 OH
Dannie Maynard Dannie Maynard 5’9″ Chesapeake | 2024 OH is a 5’10” combo guard that can score the ball at the rim or hit from deep. He has excellent handles and can pass the ball. His floor vision is superb, and he is an unselfish player. His on-ball defense is tenacious and helps set up the defense for his teammates. He can shoot off the dribble, shoot the ball with consistency off screens and hit midrange and deep balls. He is a consistent threat every night on the offensive end. He helped lead his team to a 15-9 record. He was named All-OCC 1st team and OPSWA All-District 2nd Team. Danny averaged 16.9 points per game, 3.5 assists per game, 1.9 steals per game and 3 rebounds per game. In 2024, he hopes to improve his stats and help lead his team to a league title and further playoff run.
Jace Copley Jace Copley 6’3″ | SG Lucasville Valley | 2024 State OH is a 6’3″ right-handed basketball for Valley High School. He is highly skilled and crafty with the ball. He can defend any position and has a very high basketball IQ. He can score at the rim or shoot it from deep. His mid-range game is consistent. He can score off of the dribble, catch and shoot or getting in the middle and getting offensive rebounds on putbacks. He is a tough minded and very savvy player that is going to be a force for Valley High School next year. His vision and overall basketball IQ are two of his most quality assets. He is a smart player that is a matchup issue for any team. He was named to the OPSWA’S All-District team. He looks to improve his stat line and help his team go further in the state playoffs.
Deandre Berry
Deandre Berry
Deandre is a 6’2″ combo guard from Portsmouth High School. He can finish at the rim or shoot it from deep. He plays tenacious defense and is a matchup issue for opposing coaches. He is unselfish and uses his quickness and Lightning quick handles to get by defenders. Deandre can shoot off the dribble, pull up in transition or hit from mid range. He looks to improve on his stats from 2023 and help Portsmouth win a league title and move further in the tournament. Deandre is certainly a player to watch in the 2024 season.
