This class has an intriguing crop of talented big men. In this article, a follow-up to Bigman break down part 1, we break down some additional bigs in the class of 2025.
Shufford is a developing player that competes with good effort and engery. He currently serves as a hard hat glue guy for his Valley squad.
The undersize four man has a knack for scoring the basketball. He combines the ability to finish in transition with a good set of low post moves which allow him to be effective in the interior.
Trotter is a developing big that played a role for the 3A state Champs. The Lions will be moving to 4A next season and will need Trotter to continue growing both literally and as a player.
I’m looking forward to watching Hayes this summer, he’s one of the best undersized rebounders in the state. The forward plays with a ton of energy and a relentless motor. He does a terrific job of taking advantage of his signature skill, scoring a lot of his points off offensive boards.
I really liked what I saw from Stevens. The hard hat, effort, energy guy, came on late in the season to help the Wildcats make a run to the 4A State Semifinals.
Fralin really impressed me during Silverado’s run to the state championship game. The forward has size and provided a physical precense for the club. He’s a potential sleeper to keep an eye on as we head toward grassroots season.
Like a lot of young bigs, Rabb is still a work in progress, however he has good length and some defensive tools. As his offensive game catches up to his defensive prowless look for his stock to rise.
Riptoe is part of a young core for the Lynx. The young promising big man had his moments throughout the season, including a career high 10 points against Founders Academy.
Chiu is a big man that I got introduced to through JV play. He’s a rugged banger type that provides toughness and interior rebounding for the Panthers.
