The event will be held at Clark University in Worcester, MA this year, and the games start at 10 AM on Wednesday and it will be a bracket style play with a consolation bracket for teams to play at least 3 games.
There are so many talented players and teams in this year’s event, we’ll be looking at some of the players to watch in each area the teams are coming from. Here’s a look at some of the players from Pennsylvania and Ohio schools.
You can watch the entire tournament here on the CBG Live Network.
Thomas Haugh Thomas Haugh 6'9" | SF Perkiomen School | 2023 State #117 Nation PA | 6’8” PF | Perkiomen ’23
The Florida commit is one of the biggest mismatches in the entire event, as he has great size and athleticism as well as ball skills that make him able to impact the game in a number of different ways. He’s able to guard multiple positions, he makes shots from deep and in the midrange, he’s an athletic finisher and rebounder and he’s a good passer and playmaker as well.
Bobby Rosenberger Bobby Rosenberger 6'5" | SF Perkiomen School | 2023 State PA | 6’4” WG | Perkiomen ‘23
Rosenberger has gotten better and better over the past few years, and the St. Francis commit is the epitome of a 3 and d player who brings winning intangibles to his team. The 6’4” guard is a gritty defender and the type of player who will win loose balls and get 50-50 rebounds, he’s a knockdown shooter from deep who moves well off the ball and has good range and he has a good IQ and instincts on both ends.
Macon Emory | 6’7” WF | Perkiomen ’23
For coaches looking for an available shot maker, Emory is definitely worth a look as he has college ready size and is able to make shots in different ways. At 6’7” he doesn’t need a lot of space on catch-and-shoot opportunities to get good looks, he can put it on the deck and get to spots where he’s able to rise up in the midrange and make tough shots and he’s a good rebounder for his position too.
Marcel Bryant | 6’6” PF | Spire ’23
Bryant is part of a Spire squad who has been one of the biggest surprises in post grad basketball, and Bryant is one of a number of talented prospects on their team. The Omaha commit may be a little bit undersized but he plays with a great motor and is very physical in the paint, he can step outside where he has the ability to make shots and put it on the deck and he gets up and down and is a good finisher in transition too.
Keynan Davis | 6’4” WG | Spire ’23
Davis is a player who has a chance to really increase his stock at the championship, as the 6’4” wing is one of the best available wings I saw all year. Davis is an all-around wing who is a knock down shooter from deep with good range, he is an explosive athlete who can get downhill and finish above the rim or in traffic and he plays with good energy on the defensive end and in transition too.
Daniel Young | 6’2” PG | Spire ’23
The Cleveland State commit is the straw that stirs the drink for this Spire squad, and he has a lot of tools that could make him an early impact player at the next level. He’s a strong guard who is quick off the bounce and handles pressure well, he can both run the show and he can create shots for himself in isolation situations and he is a good on ball defender who can pester and turn over ball handlers.
Daniel Pounds | 6’8” C | Spire ’23
Pounds is one of the most improved players in all of prep basketball, and the ODU commit is a physical specimen who is intimidating and can impact the game with or without scoring. He’s a big time athlete who can explode off drop steps or run the floor for easy buckets, he can challenge shots and makes it hard for driving guards to finish and he is a big time rebounder on both ends of the floor.
