SubscribeYou know it’s grassroots season when Pangos arrives! The brand, created by legendary tournament Director Dinos Trigonis has put countless players on the map. This year, he made one of his many stops in Vegas, for the Best of Vegas Showcase at Bishop Gorman High School The event featured 4 games from the class of 2023 to the class of 2026 and then an All Class game. I checked out the 2026 game, here are my notes.
Did what top players do in camp sessions. He made it look easy. Lefty got wherever he wanted on the court, while showing the ability to finish in traffic. He has an assassin’s mentality to his game, where even a showcase setting was played with precise effeciency and accuracy. Thomas’ takes no plays off, and competes at a high level.
Staking his claim as one of the best athletes in the state. Stroughter showed speed, strength and explosion. I’ll give him credit for his rim snapping dunk, where he stole the ball in the backcourt before exploding to the rim for an and 1.
Impossed his will right from the start of the freshman game, he used his 6’5 + wingspan to grab a ton of in traffic rebounds. The freshman stretched out his game as well, knocking down some threes, and he displayed big time athleticism completing a few dunks in the game.
Looks like he has been working on his upper frame. Simeus was a monster when playing downhill, and showed that he can give contact on his way to finishing around the hoop.
Hard to not notice him because of his arm length. Did a good job of making plays on both ends of the court. Always liked his defense, but he showed some 1 v 1 and transition scoring ability as well.
Played with a good combination of speed, quickness and instincts. I’ve seen him a couple times the last few months and he’s impressed. He did a good job of using his skill set to make plays for his squad.
Has a good frame, and used it to bully some of the smaller guards. He didn’t take many jumpers, but showed that he can get to the hoop, and was one of the better downhill and transition players in the game.
