#69 Nick Coval Nick Coval 6'1" | CG Parkland | 2024 State PA | G 6’1 Parkland
On the PA high school landscape, Coval is one of the best marksmen, regardless of class. He can create his own shot and threaten defenses running around screens off-ball. More than a shooting specialist, Coval using the fear of his jumper to get into the paint has elevated the Trojans to the District XI 6A chip and the 6A quarterfinals. It also attracted offers from CAA, Patriot League, and other Mid-Major (MM) programs. With another AAU & high school season to go, he’ll be one of the most decorated players in Eastern PA Conference history by the time he graduates.
#79 Darren Williams Darren Williams 6'4" | SG Archbishop Ryan | 2024 State PA | G 6’4 Archbishop Ryan
Already a known guy in the Philadelphia area, DWill legitimately got better while playing in a bigger role. He’s upped his scoring as a movement shooter and slasher, while still being a defensive ball-stopper, proving he can carry high usage for stretches. His tremendous efforts earned him all-league honors – first team. Williams is a top tier shooting guard in PA’s 2024 class and his recruitment will soon reflect that. The prerequisites to be a MM+/HM- player are there.
#82 Jaden Colzie Jaden Colzie 6'0" | PG Plymouth Whitemarsh | 2024 State PA | G 6’0 Plymouth Whitemarsh
Taking over the fourth quarter of the District 1 6A title game was Colzie’s brightest moment on the biggest stage, but he’s been a clutch player. The three-time Suburban One all-league selection is in-range as soon as he steps in the gym. The touch on his jumper is an extension of his touch when getting to the rim. And he’s a capable playmaker for others. Although it’s unclear which level he’ll play his college ball at, Colzie is a winning player who’s scoring impacts the game, even when he doesn’t have the ball.
#83 Nelson Lamizana Nelson Lamizana 6'9" | PF West Chester Henderson | 2024 State PA | F 6’8 Bonner-Prendie
Even though the raw numbers aren’t eye-popping (7.6 ppg & 6.2 rpg), Lamizana showed a ton of upside on a that built its chemistry over the season. He has the potential to play at the level of the screen, switch onto some perimeter players, and contest shots at the rim, all while adjusting to competition in Philadelphia. Offensively, he can knock down open threes (43.8% on a low volume) and plays above the rim in transition. There’s no doubt that the production will start to match the physical tools and talent in the coming months.
#98 Ma’Kye Taylor Ma’Kye Taylor 6'7" | PF Imhotep Charter | 2024 State PA | F 6’7 Imhotep
Taylor got a huge bump up in the rankings this update. But, given how impactful he was with Team Final in AAU and currently is at Tep, it still may not have been enough. He’s the de facto center on a Panthers squad who have multiple top 25 national wins. Taylor plays below the rim yet is physical in the post, even when he’s at a height disadvantage. His ability to make connective passes and space the floor make him a glue guy who will provide lineup flexibility once he gets to college.
