Keeping it in the same game Mitchell should be a player to watch as he had a very efficient outing the last time these two teams played. Mitchell only missed one shot the entire game and contributed on the boards pulling down 6 as well. He will need to continue to contribute on the boards, as it will need to be a team effort to limit second chance points. Mitchell has been automatic from the charity stripe and will need to be aggressive in the paint getting himself to the line early and often to get himself in the game. In this playoff run for the Lambkins Mitchell has been active on the offensive end and finishing his shots in the post. On the defensive end he has been exceeding his regular season averages and will look to continue exceeding expectations to keep this run going.
In what will kickoff the Saturday slate for 6A, McGrew will have to have himself a game if the Buffaloes want to get past Denver East. On the PG front this will be a matchup between arguably the states best guards. McGrew will have to steal that show and bring some momentum from his defensive plays and transition that to the offensive side of the ball. McGrew is an anchor in the middle and will have to come up with some blocks as he is leading the team in that category with 2.4. When McGrew comes up with blocks it can turn into quick transition points. He is also very active on the boards and will have to continue this to limit the Angels second chance points. When McGrew gets going he can get hot on both ends of the court and he will have to be the difference maker in this game if the Buffaloes want to advance.
In what is a rematch from a game earlier in the season where Baskind had a solid outing and dropped 21. Baskind will try to duplicate this performance again saturday. Baskind is a player that is a pest in the passing lanes and gets out on the break quickly after getting quick transition points. Baskind is a great shooter, he has a quick trigger and can get hot quickly if you let him. In the last matchup Baskind was able to knock down 5 of his 7 three point shots and was able to turn 2 of his steals into 2 fast break layups. The Golden Eagles have been playing some stingy defense lately and Baskind has been contributing with some steals and blocks. If he is able to continue this momentum on both ends of the court it will go a long way in getting his team into the final four.
