This time during the year is when prospects begin to make names for themselves and generate even more noise around their recruitment before returning back to the high school season mindset. Prep Hoops Florida will be highlighting some of the notable recruits that deserve recognition. Let’s get into some 2024 playmaking guards from around the state.
The 6’0 junior guard was recently voted to the All-Metro Team for his high school of Edgewater (17-11) after finishing the season with 13 points per game, 3.7 rebounds, and 3.3 assists. Taylor led his team to an impressive season and a trip to the regional state semifinals. He is a mature point guard with reliable ball handling skills and a decent jump shot from mid-range or behind the arc. Taylor currently holds an offer from Stetson University.
The 6’3 combo guard is an athletic rising prospect with a good jumper pull-up game combined with high quality body control when pushing the floor to finish fast break lay ups consistently. Brown has an underrated one-on-one game and was a playmaker for the Bolles School in Jacksonville, averaging 19.9 points per game, 3.5 rebounds and 1.8 steals. Brown currently holds an offer from Alabama A&M University but should expect his recruitment to be more active during the AAU season.
The back-to-back FACA Class 4A District 3 Player of the Year led Ribault to 25-5 record while leading his team with 13.9 points per game, 5.7 rebounds and 3.7 steals. The 6’0 floor general excels at controlling the offensive pace and getting his teammates involved. His active hands of the defensive side of the ball will make him standout when finding his way to the next level. Is a playmaker with the ball in his hands and can be scrappy on defense. College coaches need to tap in and get eyes on Williams heading into his senior year.
Rosado has a deep offensive bag that he used all season to average, 26.4 points per game, 3.8 assists, and 3.1 steals for Lake Wales High, good enough for 5th best for juniors in the state. His overall game continues to improve despite his smaller frame and always plays with dog in his heart. Rosado is money from three-point range and somebody you have to get a hand up or go to zone or he will get hot.
