2024 Rankings: Stock Rising Guards, Pt I

Keenan Wilkins Keenan Wilkins 5'11″ | PG Christ School | 2024 State NC leads the latest batch of stock-risers at the point guard spot out of Christ School. While the move is slight for Wilkins at just six spots from 22nd to 16th, it’s worth noting his ability to transition to the point guard spot with his move to Christ School. It’s been “so far, so good” for him since the move as he produced 14.1 ppg, 4.5 apg, 2.5 rpg and 1.3 spg while shooting 41 percent from 3-point range. He led Christ School with 77 made 3-pointers in 2022-23. He’s a floor general that can knock down shots on the perimeter and make plays for others utilizing his speed off the bounce. He’s a proven winner that’s worth some attention from DI and DII programs in the region.

Kamran Prince Kamran Prince 6'2″ | PG Trinity Academy Raleigh | 2025 NC is a 6-foot-3 combo guard that’s really coming into his own at C.B. Aycock High in his junior season. He put up numbers of 18.8 ppg, 5.5 rpg, 3.6 apg and 1.7 spg while shooting 53 percent from the field on the season. He’s a hard-nosed guard that’s underrated on the shooting front and coming into his own athletically on both ends of the floor. He moves from the 54th position to No. 31 in the latest 2024 rankings update. He’s one to keep an eye on this grassroots season as he’ll suit up with Team Curry on the UAA.

Carlos Vazquez Carlos Vazquez 6'5″ | SF Wayne Country Day | 2024 State NC is a 2024 prospect that continues to climb up the radar at Wayne Country Day School. He sees his stock move from No. 39 to No. 27 in the latest 2024 rankings update. He’s a versatile presence at 6-foot-5 that knows how to fill up the stat sheet. He was a big reason for the Chargers run in the NCISAA Playoffs this year and nearly posted a triple-double back in February with 18 points, eight rebounds, and eight assists along with two blocks in a victory over Caldwell Academy. He’s an unselfish wing/guard prospect that plays like a Swiss Army Knife, carving up opponents with his ability to finish in traffic and find others in space. He’ll be one to keep an eye on this grassroots cycle with Team Wall .

Isaiah Washington Isaiah Washington 6'5″ | SF Winston-Salem Christian | 2024 State #201 Nation NC is one of the more underappreciated guard/wings with his length and abilities at 6-foot-5 in the state. He moves from 41st to the 33rd spot in the latest 2024 rankings update. He’s proven to be a formidable force on the wing for Winston-Salem Christian School’s National squad. He’s an effortless three-level scorer that can operate in space and without the ball in his hands with offers from St. Peter’s and Florida International already. He’ll be a name to watch, especially on the national level to grow on the recruiting trail as he approaches his final summer on the grassroots scene with Garner Road on the 3SSB circuit.

Bryson Cokley Bryson Cokley 6'5″ | SG CS | 2024 State NC is another name at Christ School that saw his stock rise at the shooting guard spot in 2022-23, moving from No. 34 to the 20th spot in the latest 2024 rankings update. He was a pivotal piece in their upset of Carmel Christian School in the NCISAA 4A Championship, finishing with 10 points on a perfect 4-for-4 shooting effort including 1-for-1 from 3-point range to go along with three rebounds and an assist. He finished the season with 9.6 ppg, 3.1 rpg and 1.8 apg while shooting 38 percent from behind the arc. He was second behind Keenan Wilkins Keenan Wilkins 5'11″ | PG Christ School | 2024 State NC in made 3-pointers (54). He’s set with a chance to repeat as a NCISAA State Champion in 2023-24 as he’s already committed to Wake Forest headed into his final grassroots summer with Team CP3.

Shamel Baker Shamel Baker 6'0″ | PG East Carteret | 2024 State NC is a combo guard that continues to impress in the 2024 class at East Carteret High alongside backcourt mate Charles Matheka Charles Matheka 5'11″ | SG East Carteret | 2024 State NC . He finished the 2022-23 season producing 24.2 ppg, 4.8 rpg, 2.6 spg and 2.4 apg as the lead guard for the Mariners as they went 20-7 and upset Seaforth High 61-60 in the third round of the NCHSAA Playoffs before falling to Farmville Central in the fourth round. He finished with 24 points against Seaforth High and shot 3-for-7 from 3-point range in the victory. He’s an electric prospect that can finish around the rim in traffic and plays an aggressive brand of basketball with the ball in his hands. He’ll be a prospect for DI and DII programs to keep eyes on with Eastern Carolina Phenomz .
