Jack Dunbar Jack Dunbar 6'4" | SF Peters Township | 2024 State PA | 6’3″ | G | Peters 2024
Dunbar is one of the top juniors in the South Hills and brought his A game on Saturday afternoon. A powerful guard who can handle the ball with poise, has a good first step and can use his 200lb frame to drive through just about all contact. He’s an excellent shooter from deep and a tough on ball defender. He led all scorers on the day with 29, including a rim rocking dunk to put the game away in its final seconds. Colleges should be lining up for him over the next year. Very impressive performance at both ends. The star of the day.
Brendan McCullough | 5’11” | G | Peters
The facilitator of the offense in the halfcourt, McCullough is a heady guard who has a tight handle and can really move the ball well. He was the general on the floor yesterday. He’s also a very tough on ball defender with quick feet and active hands. He knows how to position himself, cut down angles, deny the crossover and showed it all in the win. Good at getting the extra touch while defending without drawing a foul. While Dunbar is the horsepower, McCullough is at the wheel of the bus.
Kaleb Pryor Kaleb Pryor 5'10" | PG Gateway | 2023 State PA | 5’8″ | G | Gateway
Gateway’s answer to McCullough. Pryor is exceptionally athletic. He’s a confident ballhandler and lead guard–While he’s undersized, he’s got the speed and court vision to more than make up for it. He controlled the pace for the Gators, was up on the press and also knows how to release in transition off turnovers and missed shots to create and finish easy points.
Talli Thompson | 6’2″ | G | Gateway 2024
The junior guard was Gateway’s brightest offensive star in the tight defeat. Showed an expanded skillset that allowed him to put the ball on the floor and get at the rim but he also hit several big threes on his way to 17 points. He’s going to be one of the top players in the East Hills next year.
Jake Ziegler | 6’4″ | G | Peters
Ziegler was the biggest player on the floor and hit the boads hard along with Dunbar. He hit for 14 points on offense, including 10 off a handful of deep shots in what was a hot third quarter for Peters–They only missed two shots. His size caused Gateway problems getting at the rim.
