The young quick elusive guard is my pick for MVP of the Suffolk county playoffs. Make no mistake when Jeremiah took over the keys to the car the Brentwood team went on their roll. The Indians were thought to be a contender but not a big favorite like they have been in the past. Jeremiah steadied the ship. Running the offense and scoring the ball. He is able to get downhill and finish creatively inside off the bounce. Has quick hands and seems to get big steals when needed the most. He had 26 points 10 assists and 5 steals in the semis and final games. A bright future. The bottom line is Fred Diogene (reported on in my last report) and Marquese Denis Marquese Denis 6’4″ | SF Brentwood | 2024 State NY very easily could have shared the MVP with Jeremiah.

Outstanding workhorse. Rebounds the ball with sheer determination and desire. Gets to the rim off the bounce. Uses his strength and quickness to score inside. Capable of stepping out and hitting the perimeter jumper. Had 29 points and 16 rebounds in the semis and final game.
My pick for the class A title was much more one sided. No one else but Matt should be the pick. Reported on many times during the season. An outstanding shooter. Showed his quick first step and ball handling to get to the rim. Creates contact and finishes. Outstanding deep range from beyond the arc. Also realizes when he needs to get the ball to an open teammate. He rebounds well from the guard spot. In the championship game he 29 points 6 rebounds 4 assists. In the semi final game he had 18 points and 8 assists. Showing he isnot only a prolific scorer but also does the things needed to win games.
Scott McConville

On a team with a bunch of shooters to spread the floor, Scott does alot of the dirty work. He is a fast 5 man able to rebound it and push the ball up the floor if need be. Makes winning plays. Terrific tough rebounder. Made some nice passes out of the post or from the elbows.
Here is another one of those top shooters I told you about. Had 18 in the championship game. Outstanding shooter. Can score off the catch or get off his own shot. Uses his handle to back the defenders back off him and then can pull the trigger with a step back or side step three.
Highlights
Fred Diogene
Fred Diogene
Fred was talked about in our semi final match up report. So we will just touch on his stats for the final 2 games. He had 2 blocks, 3 steals, 18 rebounds and 10 points in the championship. In the semi final game he had 17 points and 11 rebounds. Again you can make a case for any of the three players from Brentwood for the MVP of the class AA playoffs.
