His number are elite and although there are players putting up more points than him he has been such an important player on this Cottonwood team. Chris Cox Chris Cox 6'7" | SF AZ Compass Prep | 2024 State AZ has literally jumped out of the gym this year as he has dunked his way to one of the best stock rising players out West. He has his Cottonwood squad contending for a state title in 5A and with his level of play and take over ability is off the charts. He will jump center and run the PG at times, that versatility is what the next level is looking for.
Name: Chris Cox Chris Cox 6'7" | SF AZ Compass Prep | 2024 State AZ
Height: 6’7
Position: Wing
Graduation Class: Class of 2024
High School: Cottonwood High School
Club: Utah Gold
Offensive Game:
On Offense Chris is a threat to put you on a poster if you fall asleep watching. He has been catching some impressive lobs this year. He has also made some tough runners, but an important part of his game that is developing is his outside shooting. To put the icing on the cake this kid went 8 for 8 not too long ago from beyond the arc, which really makes him such a hard guard.
Defensive Game
It is never a problem to have height, length and some elite lateral movement. Chris can guard all five positions at the high school level and at the next level he will be a perfect 3 guard that can defend the position. He rebounds the ball and he knows how to stay active and engaged on the defensive end.
Overall
With Division 1’s chasing him his ideal landing spot will always be a place where he can play his game. He has really been let loose this year as you can see the results. With a 23-1 record and their only loss came early in the year and they should be able to avenge that loss if they played again now but this team has really turned into a big time program with Chris on the squad. He makes everyone around him better. This kid is just starting to reach his potential.
