We took a look at Most Outstanding Player candidates back in early December. As the races in each class take shape, we can narrow the field a little while also looking at a couple of “risers” and “sneakers.”

The Frontrunners:

[player_tooltip player_id='1270090' first='TJ' last='Williams'] – He's arguably the best player in the state and he plays for arguably the best team in the state. So he has to be the frontrunner, even if he doesn't produce the most impressive stats. He does some of everything, stuffing the stat sheet. You have to figure that when the Falcons are challenged by top competition, Williams will shine.

[player_tooltip player_id='1378390' first='Grant' last='Stubblefield'] – The Huskies have four losses and are not currently ranked in the top five of 6A. But don't forget what Stubblefield did in the tournament last year. He blew the doors off as an attacking point guard led his team to the brink of a championship. He's tough, physical and capable of keeping his team in every game. His stat line is impressive: 16 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Most of all, he's a leader, which should merit Most Outstanding Player consideration.

The Risers:

[player_tooltip player_id='1080168' first='Jack' last='Bachelor'] – Washburn Rural recently broke into the top ten of the 6A rankings. They have a nice roster of players, but they will only go as far as Bachelor can take them. He helped the Junior Blues give Wichita Heights its only loss on the season. If Rural can put together a nice run the rest of the way, Bachelor will deserve a ton of credit. He handles the ball and directs the offense, moves without the ball to find shots and makes everyone around him better. He's averaging 17 points and 3 assists.

[player_tooltip player_id='1080206' first='Harrison' last='Kisling'] (pictured) – Kisling flew under the radar last season before he went crazy at sub-state and state. Suddenly he was smack in the middle of the Most Outstanding Player talk. He's continued his high level of play as a senior and has Olathe West ranked third in the 6A rankings. This guy can heat up and carry a team a long way.

The Sneakers:

[player_tooltip player_id='1747705' first='Blake' last='Garrett'] – His solid but unspectacular 12 points and 7 rebounds might not seem like Most Outstanding Player caliber. But Garrett deserves to be mentioned because he's the leader of the team currently ranked #2 in 6A. He's a big man who can do it all, and his consistency is impressive.
