It featured both high school and post grad teams from all over the east coast including Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina.
Here, we take a look at part two of the many standouts from the Virginia schools in attendance.
Timayahs Bracey Timayahs Bracey 6'0" | SG Hargrave | 2024 VA | 6’0” CG | Hargrave Varsity ’24
Bracey has been a big reason that Hargrave Varsity has been the surprise of the VISAA D2 so far this year, and as one of the only returners on the team he’s stepped up his game even more this year. The 6’0” combo is a knock down shooter whether it’s coming off screens off the ball or when they go under on pick-and-rolls, he’s improved a lot in his ability to create off the bounce and he has a great IQ and makes smart plays on both ends of the floor.
DeAndre Cowan | 6’2” WG | Hargrave Varsity ’24
Cowan is one of the many new talented faces on this Hargrave team, and he was very impressive in their win over Chatham where he showed a lot of tools. The 6’2” off guard is a natural athlete with good speed and explosive finishing ability, he made shots from multiple levels and he showed good instincts and ability defensively too.
Dante Kearse Dante Kearse 6'5" | SF Hargrave Military Academy | 2023 State VA | 6’5” F | Hargrave Varsity ’24
Kearse is another new addition to this Hargrave team and he’s wasted no time getting right too it as their versatile forward who creates mismatches and produces on both ends of the floor. He has a great frame that makes him strong and athletic enough to guard bigs or wings, he protected the rim and rebounded and he scored the ball well in different ways.
Jaden Daughtry | 6’7” PF | Hargrave Post Grad ’23
Daughtry was the star of the entire event, putting up big numbers in Hargrave’s impressive wins over First Love and London Basketball Academy, and he’s a big reason they are the #1 post grad team in the country right now. The Indiana State commit showed his good motor and athleticism getting out in transition and finishing with consistency, he rebounded well and made plays on the defensive end and his physicality got him to the line a lot. He finished with 33 points and 11 rebounds in their win over First Love.
Kailon Nicholls | 6’0” PG | Hargrave Post Grad ’23
Nicholls is one of the best available point guards that you’ll come across anywhere, and he showed his dynamic playing style in their wins. He has blazing speed and a quick first step with a shifty handle that allows him to get in the lane to make plays, he has great hang time and body control as a finisher and can play above the rim and he can make plays for others on the ball too. He finished with 19 points and 5 assists in their win over First Love.
Asher Jackson | 6’4” WG | Hargrave Post Grad ’23
Jackson is one of the x-factors on this team that may get overlooked with all the depth they have, but he’s one of their top shooters and can really get it going quickly. The 6’4” lefty moves well off the ball and can set his feet quickly, he has great form and effortless range and when he knocks down one he can get it going and hit multiple in a row. He finished with 15 points, hitting 4 three-pointers in their win over First Love.
